Its gonna be Chloe because she is not in Clark's future and the character was made up in the beginning. She was not in the original Superman story, but with her growing popularity, I think they are writing her in the new Superman coimics.

Chloe has to die or else Lois can never take her place.

Its gonna be Chloe because since she wants to work at the Daily Planet how is Lois supposed to work there? I think she decides to work there as a tribute to Chloe's death. Also, Lana marries Pete Ross in the future so she can't die. Smallville somewhat has to stick to the original Superman storyline.
