actually no, but when the original xbox came out, I predicted imminent doom from a console made by microsoft... of course that didn't come to fruition until the 360, but whatever, I'll take what I can get.

And yah... I'm sort of an old school video game collector... sort of. BUT HEY, I actually have a PS2 now!! Got it a few months ago, but I still play my Sega Saturn and Turbo Grafx the most. AND on that note, my 3DO died, so time to go on ebay and buy another one.

xbox 360 is pile of crap compared to ps3

ps3 may be a better system, but its a huge pain in the ass to program games for.

The transition for programmers to make PC/xbox games is none, since its the same lol

ps3 needs more complicated stuff due to cell processor. In the end, will be the ps3s downfall despite its goodness.

Cell isn't all that hard to program for once you know how to program it. That said, your average CS graduate doesn't have a hope in hell as you simply do not get the parallel programming experience but from what I've heard from EA execs in the past, the average CS grad has a lot of learning to do before programming any game.

It's a big leap in complexity, going from single core to 6 "dumb n fast" cores in the PS3 (or 8 cores in the stuff we use at work)... but that is also where computing is headed.
