OK I need someone to help me with this. My wife and I are having somewhat of an argument about sound. Her co worker lives on happy valley road, and my wifes parents are buying a house that is out near the six mile pub. Now this co worker claims he can hear western speedway from his house, which is 5kms away. I find this impossible to believe.
Anyone live in either area (6 mile pub area or happy valley), and can you hear the noise from western speedway?

You could probably hear some noise faintly at times...but not enough to even be worth mentioning I bet.

I have heard of people claim to hear it from quite a ways away... so I wouldn't be surprised.

Thanks. | You have to be higher up to hear it. If he's a little bit up the mountain near 6 mile he may hear it but only on a clear night, with no cars driving by, no wind or rain you can FAINTLY hear it near 6 mile. Happy vally? Dont think so.
Eitherway its not worth mentioning. You'll be more annoyed by the bids chirping.

Thanks. | I could hear it at my Parents place and they are on Highland rd off of watkiss way. You couldn't hear it all the time but once in a while you would hear an engine screaming. I figure I was even further away than 5kms.
