Don't some other countries have that kind of rule? Would make sense, something like you can only drive car with under 3L displacement for duration of "N"

Thats the only problem I can see with this, it has to be an objective and factual criteria.

Horsepower is out because good luck proving that. Displacement is somewhat iffy considering there is 1.6L & 2L now pushing 300 ponies.

"Supercar" is a loose term at best.

I really honestly just think some parents just need to give their heads a shake. If they don't see the problem with a teenager rolling around in a 500+hp car then its nobodies fault but their own when that kid gets the car impounded or worse wraps it around a pole.

Likely because it's hard to stop with supercars if they're going to start banning certain types of cars for GLP motorists...

Think about it, any kid can do their N test in a little Corolla then go out and buy an F350 Dually. Is that safe/sensible? No, but I see it in my GF's hood (Coquitlam) all the time.

Or people who take their road test in an automatic car but drive manual instead.

Ditto for motorcyclists who do their L/N on a Ninja 250 then move up to a Hayabusa 1200 the next day. That's totally fine too.

Same thing when these girly-men kids get mommy and daddy to get them an Aventador/Maserati/Ferrari/etc. as their first car. It's hugely irresponsible and downright stupid for any teenager to drive something that powerful.. I know for a fact that if I had one of those when I was 17 I'd be dead by now.

All of the above are pretty bad ideas and potentially unsafe. But it would be nearly impossible for ICBC to draft laws that restrict ALL types of "unsafe" GLP vehicles without limiting them to your standard Corolla drivers-ed car.

There's another Sol out there with s2k tails but with metallic blue paint and TL headlights. I'm not sure if anyone's seen it before but IMO, its borderline HOS. The fitment for the body work is gorgeous...but...why spend so much on a DEL SOL???

yea thats a good point... it would be a pretty hard thing to categorize in terms on what the limit would be.
