You could quad turbo a 13B or 12A or K20 or 4G63. It just depends on how much room you have and if you want bling or performance. (performance being 1 T78/T88 turbo)

I own a 20b myself. Great moter to build and make big numbers if you got a big wallet. I'm satisfied with mine. owned a sr20det boost 20psi. I rather have my 3 Rotary

Rikaro 09-02-2009 11:49 PM

good job! you just digged up a 2 year old post.

Thanks, otherwise I didn't know how noob I was back then.

BNR32_Coupe 09-03-2009 03:17 AM

Mugen EvOlutioN 09-03-2009 09:20 AM

someone explains to me about how rotary works

i know they are quite diff than regular engine with pistons

so how many rotaries did it come with for stock FD? and stock rx8?

so u can add as many rotaries to the engine as u please? obviously not 10 or sth stupid

than each rotary u can turbo it???

ok that video i kinda knew how the rotary work in terms of those basic information. but what im confused why people mention they can have multiple rotary in a car. more rotary = pistons car I4, v6, V8???

yet the more the rotary u have the more turbos u can mount?

Its similar, more rotors = bigger engine. Correct me if I'm wrong, i think each rotor is about 650cc. Two rotors = 1.3L (13B engines), three rotors = 2.0L(20B engines, they round up, as usual).

More rotors does not mean necessarily mean you can put more turbos on either. It depends on application.

Mugen EvOlutioN 09-03-2009 03:13 PM

so 4 rotary will be 2.6L and 5 rotary will be 3.9L

isnt rx-8's fuel consumption nearly the same as a V6?

and thats 20B engine im guessing?

RX7 and RX8 are both 13B, 2 rotors. I don't believe they ever sold any 3 rotor cars in North America.

And yes, RX8's fuel consumption is insane, you'll be lucky to get 250kms out of a full tank. Rotary cars are really thirsty. You'll be insane to do a 4-rotor car, not to mention a 5-rotor (which i never heard of).

Mugen EvOlutioN 09-03-2009 07:08 PM

so if RX8 was already thirsty as it is, if u turbo or twin turbo wouldnt it be.......
wow

u'd wish u own a gas station

-luong. 09-03-2009 09:47 PM

lol very true^ my 3 roter kills me already. If you stay outa boost its ok but theres no fun. You can see that needle drop every boost hit =p Gota to pay to have fun. these cars are made for a reason

!Aznboi128 09-04-2009 09:01 AM

true that, a brand spanking new RX8 will burn oil.

Mazda cosmo.. I was told its the only one with the 20b, but im not sure

Raid3n 09-04-2009 04:40 PM

cosmo was only sold in japan.

the RX8 doesn't use a 13b it uses the RENESIS.

and all rotaries burn oil by design because it is injected into the combustion chamber to lubricate the seals (apex, corner, side).
