Telus/Bell/Rogers/Fido dead zones???

I tried searching for this before, but kinda forgot. I was curious cause i'm with Rogers right now, and since number portability is coming on March 14th I might be switching providers.

I've noticed that I get like 3-5 dropped calls everyday now with my Blackberry when I never had that problem before. I called in about it and got it looked into. But it wasn't related to my phone, it was the network.

But I know that there are some dead zones with each of the providers.

Wanna share and list them?

Rogers
-41st ave & 49 ave areas around main or something

Telus
-Fleetwood area in Surrey (162nd Street - 176 Street area around Fraser Highway)

Bell
-Same as above

Not possible. There are cell sites there at the intersections. Try using a different phone.

if you take the number to Telus, that means you have to get a different phone too. Blackberry for Rogers and Blackberry for Telus are different. ;)

Sorry I didn't mean 41st or 49th and Main, I forgot which area it was exactly.

Maybe it was Victoria or something........
crap

bcrdukes 03-08-2007 06:00 PM

Victoria drive closer to the Fraserview area has ALWAYS been a problem because it's on a hill. There are no cell sites that can provide the area with coverage and I think each and every provider's got a problem there. You can thank your friendly neighborhood protester.

Hey Mike, do you know if there're any problems with reception in the Capitol Hill area of North Burnaby (more specifically near the intersection of Dundas & Howard).

I live in the basement suite of a house near there (I know, I know, basement) and sometimes have connection problems even with my W810.

iris1112 03-11-2007 03:52 PM

use a quad brand phone for better reception hehe

Fido dead zone: near Langara

TigerSY 03-12-2007 12:44 AM

by switching to a different carrier, all you'd keep is the number.
