Cops + No.2 rd

What's up with all the cops blocking off the No.2 bridge to Russ Baker?? As I travelled South, saw more cop cars drive by. One even did a U-turn, scared the shit out of me. Something big happened??

monkymadnes 07-21-2007 01:30 AM

just passed there, dunno whats going on! they didnt stop me though just slowed me down. didnt even shine a torch at me. did stop some other people though. brought them to the side.

KxXx 07-21-2007 01:32 AM

common place for cops to look for ppl drinking and driving

specially on a fri nite

asian_XL 07-21-2007 03:04 AM

they are planning to race to alderbridge tim horton, the slowest gets to pay for the donuts

EuroTRASH 07-21-2007 09:48 AM

I'd say it was pretty obvious that they were setting up the airport for Race Wars

91LS-VTak 07-21-2007 11:45 AM

at 5:30am they were gone

Sp3cial_K 07-21-2007 01:37 PM

i went thru too..i think its jsut a road block. Good thing i wasn't in my normal car or i would've gotten a VI for sure.

for a road block the sure take a long time to process people through. unlike the vpd the rcmp is sloww

Drinking and driving counterattack. We have shifts set up almost every day this summer where we set up road blocks in different places around Richmond looking for drunk drivers.

I'm not sure on the exact stats, but we have taken a ton of impaired drivers off of the road so far this summer. The last road block shift I was on this summer it took me five minutes before I found a driver who blew over twice the legal limit.

boss_clad 07-21-2007 05:51 PM

^ wtf...are you really a cop?

cause ya know, its a criminal offense to pretend to be a cop.

Five-Oh is a cop.

Keep the good work goin guys, I personally dont want more drunk driving related deaths. Theres enough already from non-alcohol related accidents

Raid3n 07-21-2007 07:26 PM

it looked like an unmarked unit plowed into the hill

The criminal offense is in impersonating an officer; ie: taking authority you don't have.

If some guy says "haha im a cop", it's not a crime if he doesn't actually do anything that's within the power of a cop.

Good Job!!!! I almost got hit by a drunk driver one night. Too bad I can't report to the police when I found drunk drivers on the road.

why not?
anytime you feel that someone might be driving impaired, you can phone in and report their liscence plate and if there is an officer in the area they may be able to intercept them

I am a Richmond RCMP regular member.

And as for reporting drunk drivers if you see a vehicle you believe the driver is impaired you should definitely call it in. Everytime a possible impaired driver is reported to us they broadcast the license plate, type of vehicle, and the registered owner's address over the radio. A member or two then make patrols for the vehicle on the route they would likely take to go home and check the owner's house to see if the vehicle has made it home. We actually catch quite a few impaired drivers this way.

McDick 07-22-2007 09:33 PM

I got an idea/suggestion..

I think RCMP should set up a phone line for people to tip them thru SMS.

I surely able to tips the cops for some of those illegal drinking places in Richmond easily.

Please help me extend my thanks to all the RCMP Richmond members for preventing drinking and driving... I haven't seen a heavily impaired driver for some time now.

shenmecar 06-19-2009 08:49 AM
