p.s. i think Affliction t-shirts are about $80?

I work at caprice and the lv and gucci money purses have been banned.

You know whats funny? We havn't had much problems ever since they banned this clothing.

also you can find affliction for 30 dollars.

SkinnyPupp 09-15-2007 11:07 PM

What kinds of 'problems' are caused by wearing shirts with tattoo-inspired art on them? I just don't get it...

OK so wtf does the clothes have to do with anything? Or is it just a way of racially profiling people?

the_rickster 09-16-2007 10:20 AM

where do you get racial profiling out of any of this?

its a ban on certain articles of clothing because it seems dealers or the like are prone to wearing them. its like a bar not allowing colors or patches in a bar. anyone who can pay the cover charge and stay out of trouble is more than welcome to patronize the bar/club, just not with those clothes on. its not too difficult to understand, and this is nothing new.

azn_boix 09-16-2007 11:19 AM

who gives a fuck about this ban.... these shirts look like shit

peepee99 09-16-2007 01:40 PM

CA and Ed hardy are going to become the next Von Dutch fad. Shit will go downhill and eventually the shirts will be sold at winners for 30 bucks.

the_rickster 09-16-2007 03:19 PM

isn't that the same for everything?

Hondaracer 09-16-2007 03:23 PM

trust me, working at a bar about 80% of the people wearing the clothes actually do fall into that group of the drug dealers/trouble makers

i'm just basing that on looks purely, but when the guy wearing an afflicition shirt has more tatoo's then the shirt itself, usually those types can be filed under "seedy" or "trouble"

I think the VPD actually did a good thing banning it, as it was a somewhat subtle ban which wasnt well publisiced but still shows the VPD has some power and influence over the downtown core

as well, it doesnt really effect me as i dont purchase either of the brands due to how played out they already have become.

So I was chit chatting with some fellow industry staff and the ban is on the follow clothing: Christian Audigier, Ed Hardy, Affliction and Tapout. For anyone who owns Smet, that is the next brand on the chopping block and some clubs have already gone ahead and just added it to the list.

StylinRed 09-17-2007 05:05 PM

it doesnt make sense banning it... i dont wear it i think they're ugly ,the hats are nice though. but that doesnt solve anything at all.... guess they just want to piss some people off, surprised no ones tried a lawsuit yet

lawsuit against who?

clearly you dont know the extent of problems in the downtown core, although banning clothes wont do much, it's a step in the right direction imo

StylinRed 09-18-2007 03:33 AM

i know very very very well what goes on down there.. but brand name clothing bans? puhleeeze thats a step in no direction

and by lawsuit i meant one of those people that love suiing for any reason they can find, surprised those types havent jumped on this :)

Hey let's ban Northface too! And Pho is now a prohibited substance! So are Bellmonts, and duMaurier...and we're taking blonde hair dye off the shelves and away from the streets so we can save some lives! You know what? let's ban Infiniti, Mercedes, Cadillac, and all rims over 19" too! Sterotypes...Racial Profiling??? What the fuck is that?!! Now let's call it a day and go grab some donuts!

It's a ridiculous ban.

anyways, these bans are just WITHIN clubs right? Nothing like, an entire ban within BC, am i right?

3xta 09-20-2007 10:55 PM

Smet is the shit, it fits very nice on basically everybody, someone buy my ED HARDY hoodie!! :P

This doesn't make sense to me... why would plush ban CA, and Ed Hardy? Doesn't the store "Plush" itslef sell these brands? Isn't the club and the store related to each other?!

Meowjin 09-21-2007 02:15 AM

I love how everyones up in arms about this ban
