^ i went to the one in metro and i liked the ambiance of the rooms and the feeling i was provided.
however, the massages lickeddddd. i felt no pressure whatsoever and i felt like they were just smoothing my skin or something. also, i wish they started massaging the head first WITHOUT the oil. when i came out my hair was a messss!

Why's this in fashion/shopping?
Anyway, my definite favourite is Spa Utopia. Their 50 minute sessions cost, on average, around $100 and they're always fantastic.

Spa Utopia... where is that? Sounds a bit pricey =o

Thanks for posting and reviewing the ones youve been to.
ive done a bit of research myself on spa's around vancouver and what they have to offer...
Now, like i said, im getting this for a friend whos a girl. shes not a real close friend, or someone i talk to all the time.
i have liked her for the longest time, and she knew that. and i do still like her and all that good stuff.
problem. she has a bf now, and hes kinda my friend. well not really friend, but id say we get along well when we hang out.
question, how much should i spend and what should i include in the spa package? to not make me look cheap and at the same time not showing that i still have such strong feelings for her. or letting her bf think wtf? whys he spending so much on a friend?
so after researching several places, ive found out that spas arent too cheap. but theyre all pretty similar priced.
so...for the girls, how much would you expect to be on the gc from me if you were in my situation?
good thing about her though, is that shes not too materialistic. and easily pleased.
knowing all of that that, i dont want to spend only $80 for one massage. but at the same time i dont want to spend $700 on a full package.

If she's dating your buddy, and they both know you have/had feelings for her.. I'd say anything over $40-50 is playing with fire.
I'd be a little weirded out if a guy I knew had had feelings for me at one point got me a super expensive gift, especially if it ended up costing more than whatever my bf got me. Other girls might be different though.

Pink Nail Spa. It just started and I'm trying to support my friends buisness. Also helps that one of the girls that does the massage is an x-import model. =p
It's around joyce station.

If she's into it, buy her a mani, pedi, facial or even a massage (full body, or upper half). Those are all fairly cheap presents

^^$40-50 wont be enough to cover even half of those.
i think the spa im going to go with is Hennessey salon and spa. unless someone can recommend me a better place by tomorrow morning.
$150-200 is a bit expensive for a present on a friend, but she does mean something to me, and she will forever. i wouldnt mind putting in like $500, but she isnt my gf.
...i see this going back to the relationship forum, lol.

Lol. Do whatever you have to mate =) I was just trying to give you a girl's point of view, but I wouldn't ever try to impose a limit you don't want to use =)
Hennessey seems okay, a bit pricey though.

yeah i know what you mean inaii.
thanks for your pov.
if it was a normal girl friend who i have no feelings towards then $50 would have been enough.
in a way, id kinda feel bad if i put in $50 and she had to pull out another ~$50 to pay the bill. you know where im getting at?

Whatever you get her, don't forget to add a tip onto it and have it noted so the girl doesn't have to pay it (I'm assuming you don't want her to have to)

Why not just take her and her bf out for a nice dinner or something? That should take the "weirdness" out of the equation. The spa seems a little "personal" and I probably wouldn't do something like that unless she was a really good friend. (from your description, she sounds like a step up from an acquaintance but not a close friend). Just make sure you don't come across as hitting on the girl, because no-one likes others poaching on their girl.
On the subject of spas, Spa Utopia seems to be fairly good from what I've heard. There's one downtown in Canada Place and one in North Van (Deep Cove I think?). I bought a gift cert for a friend after she had her baby and she said she liked it there, except it was pretty pricey. Seems to be the norm though in terms of prices for a decent place.
