Wolf of Wall Street - 6.5/10

What a mess of a movie. I read the book and it was all over the map, I hoped the movie would set it up better. Boiler Room is still the better iteration, albeit, on the trader's perspective.

Dallas Buyers Club 9/10 - I enjoyed it a lot more then I thought I would.
Lone Survivor - 7/10 - Again, decent movie worth watching once for sure.
The Wolf of Wall Street 6.5/10 - Had it's moments, also was a little bit dry at times didn't hate but didn't love.
12 Years A Slave -8.5/10 - Really enjoyed this one again based off a true story.
Escape Plan 5/10 - I wasn't expecting much and that's what I got but it's Arnie and Sly so worth sitting through for one liners.

War Horse... never really wanted to see it, but these things happen.

Set design 10/10
acting 6/10 the accents were horrific
sound track 8/10
sound effects 8/10
story line 5/10
main character's ability to hold the story 4/10 (the main characters were the horses and though they did good, the way the director humanized them was way too cheesy).

= 6.8/10 overall

Don Jon 6.5/10 - It was what I expected it to be. Only watched to see what it was all about. Short though. Its a different kind of story in all aspects. The way it was shot, the way it was told, a breath of fresh air. Maybe a little too artsy at times for me.

The Spectacular Now 9.5/10. Really good movie overall. It hits the feels in the right places without forcing anything. Some parts left me breathless out of nowhere at all. Well-acted and directed. Don't let the premise of the movie and age of the actors mislead you into thinking this is just another teen movie. Recommended watch.

Captain Phillips 9/10

Tom Hanks' last scene in the movie was almost too convincing, what a performance. Movie kept me enthralled the whole way through. A little too much like a Navy SEALs and US Navy infomercial near the end though.

Rush 7.5/10 - Great story and well told. As a gearhead I really enjoyed the sets and cinematography but I don't think a non-gearhead would enjoy the movie as much.
