I like Hondaracer's and quasi's setups... nice ambience (for watching movies) in the rooms.
Well if you have the space, of course you'd dedicate an entire room for your home theatre setup. :) For others, they just have to make use of a living/family room.

Well it doesn't take long before you can tell which users are "powered by parents". :) However, in their defense, there are a few here who are homeowners themselves.

Very nice setups.

I'm waiting until I finish my car before I help out for the remodeling of the living room.

Room first :p

The best part is the OP's system belongs to his parents, and he's the one who started the thread :lol

If it bothers you so much even after I SPECIFICALLY said it was THEIRS and not MINE, then I wil take the pics down.

Dude I've been going to Revscene for like 9 years. None of this stuff bothers me.

ienhz 02-06-2008 09:32 PM

Well I just wanted to see some sweet HT setups, that's all, nothing more. I'll just take down my pics so I don't hinder the discussion any further.

Wow this guy is drinkin' on some hatorade...tsk tsk.

Damn, you guys have absolutely nice setups. I wish I had the home entertainment system you all have. =[

LoWeR-CaSe-VoWeLS 02-06-2008 10:12 PM

OP why take your pics down? what does this accomplish?

Just cause 1 person made a comment?

ienhz 02-06-2008 10:32 PM

Maybe I'll repost a new pic when I get ahold of a real digicam. My phone camera sucks hard.

Here's some pics of my new place. I've been here less than a month so it's not all tidy and finished, but it will get there.

First off, the equipment list:

Westinghouse TX-47F430S 47" 1080p LCD
Onkyo TX-SR705 receiver
Toshiba HD-A35 HD DVD player
Sony PS3
Logitech Harmony 880
Wharfedale Diamond CS center
Wharfedale Diamond 9.5 mains
Wharfedale Diamond 9.0 rears
Wharfedale Diamond SW150 sub

It's got a few neat things... for one, it's all online with CAT5 in both the PS3 and HD-A35. Second, it is using only HDMI cables to carry signal, ver 1.3a whenever possible. Third is that the PC is currently using the LCD as a primary display and runs MediaPortal HTPC software. Inside the PC is a 1.4TB volume filled with endless amounts of TV shows and movies. I may switch to an HTPC case later, but this works for now as I'm still testing and playing around with MediaPortal.

And now, pics. Ignore those gross old coffee tables, I replaced them about 2 weeks ago.

http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n...8022008148.jpg

Consists of:
40" Samsung 4061F 1080P LCD HDTV
PS3
Xbox360
Onkyo receiver *forgot model*
2 Stereo Bose speakers
2 Yamaha Shelf Speakers under my bed
Gaming Computer

nns 02-08-2008 08:26 PM

Do you actually sit at the table? How poor has your eye-sight gotten from sitting so close to that 40" screen?

kchan 02-08-2008 08:28 PM

^
in the past year.. upgraded from 27'' to 32'' to 40''
and no increase in eye-sight from what my optometrist says
last year was 70 this year was the same as last years :p

most of my friends thought its too close until they actually came over, and they all left with saying its perfect!
