Probably 9-10pm tonight.

They close at 11pm and I know there were a lot of booths packing up early last night so I expect the same tonight.

Qasual 10-04-2009 10:45 PM

Was that in the middle where the crowd was standing?

skyxx 10-04-2009 11:37 PM

No the middle crowd was some magic show. The guy was hilarious at some points but i felt disgusted when he "swallowed" that latex balloon. :lol I left half way. lol

ilvtofu 10-04-2009 11:45 PM

Saw the SR matte black R8 there tonight, that "magician" was a total pathetic retard TBH

Well a lot of stuff was "discounted" since it was the last day. I wanted to eat "Woon Jai Chee" but there wasn't any. Got some skewers, they were 1 dollar each so it wasn't bad :D

Smart move for the casino
guess where richmond nightmarketer customers will go afterwards???

The original Richmond Night Market will be moving to the Richmond-New Westminster border. Organizer Raymond Cheung has struck a deal with Starlight Casino in New Westminster.

The market will be held there starting in May of next year and will offer free admission and parking for over two-million visitors expected to pass through the new market once it's open

Very smart move, indeed. Parking was one of the reasons I haven't gone back. There were times this year I wanted to go on a whim, because wife and I were bored. The thought of finding parking in all that chaos killed any chance of going.

And, the Richmond people won't have to cross a bridge........ will they?

Bonka 10-15-2009 10:08 PM

You can book it East on Westminster Hwy..1 lane each way though, could be painful..

Tapioca 10-16-2009 10:12 AM

Competing night markets south of the Fraser. Will there be enough business to go around?

I can see the Cheung's market coming out on top because of its proximity to Starlight. Chinese people do like to gamble after all...

i heard that on the radio this morning. they are starting sewer work on that site soon. would that imply this would a final permanent location?

Grandmaster TSE 10-16-2009 11:57 AM

no permits have been issued to them yet, so its still up in the air whether or not they'll be in operation

!SG 10-16-2009 12:05 PM

haha, thats kinda hilarious

didnt that guy that owned the "richmond night market" try to sue the "summer night market" for using the richmond night market name?

now according to that article, that area is considered new west. so thus isnt that mean richmond night market name is misleading?
