timeline:
6 months 2-3 times a week.
wash/soak
6 months 5-6 times a week.

I have been feeling slight breezes into my ass crack which makes me check to make sure it didn't rip . Anyways, thinking if I should wash soon again.. the crotch area is definitely thinning and you can see some small areas that might rip in the long-run ... Weird thing is, you can't really see the fades as prominent as I wished..

Sorry, it was a gloomy cold day so might look weird.

Try washing it less often. Hell, try not washing it from now on.
Washing and soaking so often resets all of your current creases. Since there is pretty much no more starch left in the jeans, you may want to invest in some spray starch to stiffen them up again.

Wear them more. Otherwise, there's not much else you can do without cheating. By cheating, I'm referring to the sandpaper technique where you rub away at the honeycombs/whiskers to emphasize the colour change/fades.

Wear them everyday. That's pretty much the only way... helps if you only have one pair too.

edit: and please don't cheat, it looks gross.

why be so desperate to get the final result?
i like all stages of the look of raw denim.
sometimes i think they look best when they are dark and undistressed.
once they get too worn i rarely wear them.

the way you sit plays heavily on the fading too. and what you do in them - ie obviously a pair of jeans that have been sat in 75% of the time over a one year span will have much more evident fades than the same pair that was worn by someone who was on their feet 75% of the time

He's probably always down on his knee working hard and it shows in the denim.

He just has a bit more honeycombs and some stacks. The denim on that pair of nf looks really interesting even without fades though.

It's not just about wearing them more, it's about the fit too, you see the guys on styleforum/sufu with the crazy fades/whiskering/honeycombs?

yes, it's "higher quality denim" like flatheads, iron hearts, samurais etc but it's also the fit. those guys size down 2 until they can BARELY fit into the jeans when they first purchase it. The more stretch, the more effects/fades.

^Yea, I agree. Looking at the SF pics, it seems like he sized down at least 2 in order to get the whole leg that tight... I sized down 1 and it stretched quite a bit and for him to wear his for 9months and have it that tight still.. lol.

Before you guys hem your raw denim do you guys wash it? The tailor told me that if i want it to be that current length it will shrink after i wash it...

^Some people hem them, but most people either cuff it or just let it stack.

On previous pairs I used to just let it stack, but I just started a new pair and I cuffed it up. I must say, I don't mind the look at all. Something new.

If you really wanna hem, maybe give it an extra inch or two and just let it stack or have a small cuff. You shouldn't be washing your raws that often anyway.. so it's pretty much just about the style.. stacked, cuffed, or hemmed.. and that all depends on your personal taste.

You could calculate how much it shrinks (theres usually some chart that tells you) before you hem it.
I got mine hemmed before soaking it, but I added a few inches to compensate for the shrinkage.

This is what I do. I hem them 2 inches longer than my other pairs of denim and cuff them.

Or you could always just do a soak before you hem, should get most of the shrinkage out.

G: What pair of NFs are those? Natural Indigo?
