Donair's anyone? there's typically 2 places I go for my donairs, one is fallafel town on granville and the other is donair affair here in surrey, donair affair is quick, cheap, and excellent :D http://www.spittin-knowledge.com/photos/donair1.jpg http://www.spittin-knowledge.com/photos/donair2.jpg 5.50$ for that, the "super chicken" |
Paradise donair in new west is the best 2 medium donairs and a drink for 8$. They are tastey too |
Falafal town on granville and nelson? I use to go their all the time and then stopped when I started to gain some weight. That guy is cool. He employs homeless people, whenever he can too. The falafal mix chicken was awesome. Now I just do pita pit after work and do bare min. |
^ yea granville and nelson, the guy working is nice but kinda weird, i used to be a fairly regular customer there and he acted like he knew me well and knew what i wanted, then i didnt go for like 2 months and when i came back he still acted like he knew me but when i told him what i wanted, and what i always got before he was like "so your new to donairs eh?" lol |
i have a donair pretty much everyday that i'm up at sfu lol. i just hate it when i get all the meat on one side and all the vegetables on the other. |
theres one that i usually go to on commercial drive. not sure of the name.im not sure of the cross street, but its the on the next block of the park beside a pizza place. awsome awsome donair. and the one on robson, not sure of the cross street either. also really good. |
the donair place thats right beside the macs/pizzaplace/pho tau bay/ subway is awesome. also the place on granville robson is good but i donno if its really considered a donair/ maybe more of a chicken wrap/chicken swarama (sp) |

what's the difference between a shwarma and a donair |
I have been looking for a good donair/gyros place for a while :g. I missed the stuff I had while I was in greece hehe. |

^ I think MajinHurricane is right. When I was in Europe (Spain, England, France, Germany, Czech Republic, and Austria) the terms donair, doner, kebap, and shwarma were all used very loosely and in the end, you get the same product. I think I'll head over to London for some shwarma next weekend. :D |
Little index gyro/pita = Greek Schwarma = Arab Donair = Turkish personally I'd love some of this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kokoretsi  BCRdukes what do you do that enables you to travel so much? (also saw you driving on west 4th 2 weeks ago. |
Donair town @ SFU is pretty good |

I find that donair meat is processed, like chinese fish ball type meat. Shawarma meat (at least the place that I go to) isn't so processed, you still get the texture of the fibers of the meat (not ground up meat). Not sure if it's the same as all places. |
Shawarma meat is just chicken breast with animal fat on it. gyro meat is disgusting. I wish they would have a place that just used good old fashion souvlaki. |
Okay, I just booked my tickets to London leaving on the 19th. Gonna take some pics. :D |
I havent really had these here... but from what ive tried before when i had donairs i usually got to pick between beef or chicken and when they put it together they put fries in it as well? where can i get one like that here? i had these in greece... |
Donair Affair is effin good. I go there for lunch at least once a week when I'm working that area |
