If you guys are serious about doing a weekend I would contact them asap, from what I hear a guy has purchased a whole season for 1 of the 2 karts they support for a weekend. I think they like to keep the # of karts for arrive and drive low for the mechanics.

hahaha I am really glad I have ruined some of ur wallets this year I believe a shop called Kacic Motorsports does an arrive and drive weekend with CRG karts,

Their website:
http://www.kacicmotorsports.com
Direct link to the arrive and drive info page:
http://www.kacicmotorsports.com/kms/aboutus_arrive%20and%20drive%20.html

I was thinking about emailing 'R3 Karting' that supplies Birel Karts to see if they have a similar program. Last weekend they had a MASSIVE pit section with upwards of 20 karts out.

R3 Karting:
http://www.r3karting.com/

Do I get commision for this?

I think karting isn't just a kids sport anymore. I would say the driver average age was mid 20's. Nor does weight or size, they have a class for everyone.

If your interested at all and don't mind the drive, watching is awesome. and they have some decent food at the track

Do they have a class for 238 lbs beefs like me?

Another local link, my dad grew up with this guy once upon a time and he's probably the biggest cart nut in the Province, George Fellner. http://www.gokarts.org/pages/company.php

$10 for 1 hour of seat time on a kart? That sounds impossibly good to be true.

Well, the heaviest weight restriction is 390lbs and the karts are around around 200lbs or more.

I would still say it would be the most fun you have had driving if you tried it.

I love karting and I fly around the F440 track!

I will go for SURE this summer. I'm going to have to gain a bit of weight though, I want to be 390 lbs + 200 lbs of cart = GTFO of my way!

mmmm karting!!

for my 30th birthday last year, friends and I went to 440... Early March so it was sorta cold, but the day was amazing!!

We did 60 minutes of the regular kart racing, divided into 4 15 minute sessions... We stopped after the first 2 and used the supplied BBQ, etc...

After the last 2 sessions, I decided to take out the beast 100cc's (or 125?) of tire shredding fury!!

Rich, any idea how this kart compares to what you were driving?

Here's a summary video of me tearing it up... Supposedly they have a lap counter system, but it wasn't working, so I was mainly just having fun... Not really looking for fast lines. Just pitching it into the corners and drifting around

I was told by friends watching that the owner wasn't very impressed with my tire melting driving style, hehe He walked away after the first 3-4 laps lol

http://tinyurl.com/4emu3n

For anyone that hasn't driven one of these 100+cc karts, you NEED to try it! It's incredible... I've been in/driven lots of fast cars, and there nothing that comes close to the acceleration and white knuckled handling of these things!

I knew I made the right decision to take this out when the guy explained how I should take it easy on the first lap... he said, go about the same speed as the other karts... then once you get an idea of the kart, open it up!

So i did... I like the smoke bellowing off the tires @ 3:00

What you drove at F440 would be very similar to the Kart Rich drove this past weekend.

Difference being the one Rich drove was probably in half decent shape

I've heard that those karts out at F440 are constantly in need of work, they end up broken quite often.

Yah, Mav Is right. The 125cc TaG engine is the same in both, however the chassis are the difference. The one I drove from Italian motors was fairly new and in fantastic shape while the f440 karts show their age and are run down. The mechanics at Italian motors are also very focused on getting the karts to run at their best, rather than just running well enough for people to take them out.

I would definitely recommend going to F440 and trying the 'evo' carts, they have a good bang for buck ratio. Not 'tire shredding fury' as Jeffk described the 125cc karts to be, but they have good torque and are better suited to the size of the F440 track.

I have heard they plan on purchasing more of the 'evo karts' and doing some kind of series with them, but there is a lot of hot air being blown around the f440 track.

Hey guys,

Thought I would let everyone know there is a great weekend of racing happening at CartBC (http://cartbc.com/)!!!!

Saturday is full or practice and qualifying, however Sunday is the day to go! Each class has a race heat and a feature race on Sunday.

You can watch drivers like these two (Michael Hogg left, Michael Valiante right):

Michael Valiante currently drives for SunTrust Racing in the 2008 Grand-AM series and previously drove in Champ Cars.

Michael Hogg most recently won the IAME International Challenge in Zaragoza, Spain in an Italian Motors kart.

I will also be on hand taking my kart out for the 1st time and attempting to shake off my 'rookie' status so I will be able to run with the likes of the 2 Michaels!

There is also a new one at the Mission Raceway. A brand new circuit will be opening in Seattle this summer and one will be made for next season in Sumas WA also.

It is definitely one of the most fun experiences I have ever had. There are "try-a-kart" sessions that are very cheep and a great way to get a quick feel of the kart, which is very VERY violent.

If you check out my website, in the gallery from this weekend I attached a picture from Italian Motors giving details on their arrive and drive program. It is where I started and what convinced me to buy my own kart.

Hey Richard!

I went to CartBC in last weekend but didn't spot any Italikart so I guess you weren't there. : )

How's Mission compare to the CartBC?

Wait I'm lost, I just checked their site and no where does it state to try a kart for $10/hr

Could anyone shed some light on this?

Almost sounds to good to be true. I feel like I misread it because TBC charges an arm and a leg for 8 minutes? Yet here you can get in a real cart for how long and just $10.
