oh man, i never stalled so much and looked like a total newb just trying to drive a car with a 3 puck or even 4 puck.

stalled trying to park in reverse with a slight hill. no way of feathering it. just feels like ur jolting the whole car at any given time.

I'm a noob with clutches, but it sounds like that is something you don't want to have if you live anywhere except the prairies.

+1 for finding the friction point! you don't need to use the ebrake when you've got that down. (takes a while for your foot to "memorize" though)
try learning on the oak st. hill, where red robins is. that's where i learned. freaking scary! lol

it just takes practice all in all, when i take 20th street up new westminster from queensborough, that place is steep as fuck and there's three red lights there too.

driving to school via that route everyday made me learn it, i'm not pro at it and i still stress about it when i'm at the red light but it just takes good practice.


good practice spot for learning uphill around poco/port moody? how about gaglardi way going up to sfu lol.



on a side note, say you guys are going 60 on a mainstreet, and you need to turn right into a small residential street at 20km/h.

as you're approaching, signal, brake to about 30, shift into neutral, make the turn.

now as you're MID turn/before the apex

do you put it into 2nd and slip in the clutch and let it revmatch itself?
otherwise, how would you take the turn?

For extra points, try it in the snow.

Although its been mentioned many times I must reiterate how much better 'heel toe' works on hill starts. Keeps it so much smoother for more traction.

I normally shift into second before starting the turn, but I like to 'engine brake'.

Try finding a hill without much traffic. Second ave east of boundry is good place. Park your car on the side and just keep trying to hold your car still on the hill with ur clutch. Onec your able to find the sweet spot and be able to hold the car still you should have no problem starting it. Just give throttle and let the rest of the clutch out
