u can use ur ebrake. When ur on the hill, engage the ebrake, and when u feel like ur clutch is starting to grab, release the ebrake and go.

The correct way that i would do it is, just basically memorize the point where ur ebrake starts to grab slowly engage, it foot of brake and on the gas.

use your ebrake at first..

once you are getting good at driving the stick and once you are used to your car, you won't need to use the ebrake.

i don't use the ebrake when i drive up a hill with my car

The point of the e-brake (my dad taught me all this), is that you have the ability if you are rolling back to stop the. If you happen to stall your ebrake should be partly on, and you should be able to quickly lift it up. The e-brakes purpose is to prevent you from rollign back, so while the ebrake is up, start to let go of the clutch and give it some gas and you should feel a point where the car is going to nose dive a little as it wants to go forward, at this point release the e-brake, but keep your hand on it, just in case you stall.

You could also do a big smokey RWD burnout every time.

That answer is also acceptable.

That's what I do.

If you're really hurting, just rev and dump the clutch

Seriously, just slowly release the clutch til you see the rpms start to go down and add gas and release the clutch more. E-brake is gay.

e-brake is fine for the first week or so.. once you get the idea of the clutch you should just use that.. the e-brake method just seems like it would put more wear on the car

Drop in a RB26 or SR20 and you'll have no problems on hills.

I've never used the e-brake, even as a newb. And I've taken some nasty hills before. Can't say I've never stalled but seriously, it's not NECESSARY to use the e-brake

Seconded. I learned to drive standard in a pickup with a foot-operated e-brake. Not so easy to work the "e-brake method".

Try starting out with smaller hills until you get the hang of doing the brake/clutch switch.

And be glad you don't have someone like my buddy's ex-wife, who burned out a new clutch in about three months - she held her place on hills by revving the engine and floating the clutch just enough to keep her from rolling back...

I park uphill a lot and try to park as near the curb as possible. If I don't use the handbrake when exiting the spot, I am sure the wheels have been damaged a thousand time.

I'm not sure if that mean you need to spend some money on driving lessons or ESL lessons.

Both if you can afford it.

you should beable to hold your car on the hill without any form of brake or gas. just the clutch in the right place. mind you dont do this to hold your car. but you shouldnt roll back if you know where that point is

I paid RMB 500,000 for my driving license and bachelor degree while I was in China and they are not valid in Canada?

Thanks for your suggestion and I cannot afford both.
