banana = gap with different logo..
i went to H&M today, they offers some decent "daily" dress shirts.. good for pairing with coats, or with a cardigan.

i got 3 dress shirts done by Maxwells http://www.maxwellsclothiers.com/
i think after duty and tax, i paid around $180 for 3 shirts - which is awesome, considering it's custom tailored. it does take a few months for them to make it and ship it to you, but these shirts are worth it. you get to choose from a million swatches different colours and fabrics - and you get to choose the collar style, fit, and cuffs, etc...

the fabrics they have don't really make good shirts for casual wear... definitely not clubbing or anything... just good business and business casual attire... but it's cool that you get to choose between different collars - like if you want a wide italian collar or something.
PLUS - you get a free monogram - which is just plain awesome!

Dude, those shirts are made in China for like $15. A couple of washes and you can throw them in the garbage.

You can get 3 for $199 on-line. Trust me on this one. You can wear them all day and they still look great. If you're in good shape, go for the slim-fits. |
i know im bumping an old thread, but just a heads up to NOT ORDER ONLINE. CBSA charges a $40-45 dollar duty PER brooks brothers shirt. if you're buying one online it'll cost you 80 (shirt) + 20 (shipping handling) in USD, and 50 duty in CAD. you're looking at 180 CAD for one shirt.
if you order 3, it'll be 200 + 20 usd and 150 duty, = $415 CAD or 140ish per shirt.
better t0 bust out your passport and hit up seattle.

If you want Brooks Brothers, there's going to be a store opening up on Alberni across from Italian Kitchen anyway.

since youre asking where to get dress shirts i'm assuming you dont get them very often.
first thing is, if ur going to drop cash on a shirt. make sure it fits, get your measurements...

You can probably find some cheap at the Seattle Premium Outlet stores. 3/$199 for Brook Brothers shirts are cheap! I have to agree with Marco and Gumby on this, my boss swears by them, say it's one of those "spend few to look great" things that every office worker should have. BB shirts I find have more of a classic cut to them.
Personally I would spend $200 for 3 shirts that I don't need to take the time to iron rather than $20-$60 on a shirt that I have to iron every time I throw it in the wash. Time is money baby!

wait, where did you hear this? | You can drive past there and you can see the signs on the location they're putting it up, opening in Spring, which I guess is soon. Hope they will carry the Black Fleece line
