Tropika in Richmond (Aberdeen Centre) - 7 / 10 Better than average to good depending on the dish. Pinapple fried rice was good as was some green bean veg dish. Rendeng beef tasted more like a beef curry though it was still tasty. Curry sauce that came with the Roti was average - watery and weak in flavor. I would go back again to try more and see if I can find what they excel at. Let me know if anyone knows exactly what these guys do best.

Pho 99 in Coquitlam

5/10 - Oily soup, really high in salt-sodium. Nice chewy noodles. Fuck I'm going back to Pho Tam...

Hue Cafe in Richmond across the street from the Richmond Centre (White Spot side). I posted a seperate thread about this place before finding this one so here goes:

8.5/10 - Vietnamese sandwiches are great. Also has tasty curry and beef stew. Ice coffee is also delicious here, better than I've had at other Vietnamese spots. Everything I've tried so far has been awesome.

Someone asked me if any hot Vietnamese girls worked there, and sadly the answer is no. Hence the 1.5 deduction

Shota - Richmond

Went there with my dad for father's day. i had the lunch combo A for 7.95, and he had the lamb tebouyaki for 17.95. we also shared an order of toro sashimi. my food came really fast while his came almost 20 minutes later. food was okay, the tebouyaki was pretty impressive, as it was served and cooked on a ceramic plate on top of jelly fire. the looks of the place was definitely better than the food.

i rank manzo and seto over this place

8/10

ChoonHaChooDong - Burnaby

Im a white guy who likes to eat korean food and this is the best place ive found so far. The staff is very nice and the food is always awesome. When i go there i usually order the spicy pork hot pot. On the lunch menu it costs 7.99 for the dish but it also comes with lots of those small appetizers. By the time me and my g/f are full, we almost never end up paying more than $20.00 in total. It has some korean name to it but i dont know what it is. The food always arrives quickly and has never dissapointed me.

10/10

Felico's - Richmond

9/10 - i asked the server what his favourite was, since i was too familiar with greek food already. he refered me to the Kleftico. its pretty much lamb that is basted in a mustard stew and it was really good. the meat fell off the bone and the mustardy flavour worked really well. tasted better than stepho's roast lamb. however, the 16.95 didn't beat stepho's 8.95. service was pretty good, since i discovered my friend works there now.

I found Ninkazu's food to be pretty crappy compared to Tomokazu.. when I ordered the motoyakis at Nin they were served with this like cupcake aluminum foil tray thing.. i didn't even get the oyster shell

as for felicos, you must have gone on a good night, when i went there everything was SHIT. except for the hot babe i mentioned.

if the hot babe you are referring to is the asian hostess that looks about 20 years old, then yeah that one's my friend.

Chungdam...3.5/10

I've eaten there probably more than 10 times this year, but the owners just sold the place and the cook was the owner's wife so she left tootion, how the heck do you fuck up corn cheese? No more egg soup, seafood pancake was below par, but the half and half chicken was better than before. Bosum wasn't as good as before either...

Sigh, it's the end of an era

beatty st bar & grill

went there just before going to the cirque du soleil for quick bite

it's a laid back pub with shitty food.

never going back.

ordered seafood linguini, quesadilla, thai flavoured mussels, nacho, spinach dip, pizza

none of them were good,

on top of that, i had three bottles of corona and all three bottles were NOT cold and limes came with it were dry.

FAIL.
