Gas stations in Point Roberts?

In Point Roberts, do they have the big name gas stations like Chevron, Shell, Esso, etc, or do they only have the sketchy no name gas stations? I just don't want crappy gas to mess up my car. Are there any near TSB Shipping?

Thanks

They have texaco, chevron and I think it's called Big USA or something like that. In general US gas is not as good as CDN gas from what I understand. Once I had a check engine light come on when I filled up at Point R. Depends how sensitive your ECU is I guess, while other times it was totally fine when I took my moms car.

Go to the chevron, avoid the can am and shell. Our shop gets many problem vehicles in because of those stations.

They have Shell, Chevron, Can-Am, USA Gas, and one more, which used to be a BP, but maybe it's a Texaco now.

I use Can-Am in the cheaper cars at home, and Shell or Chevron in the more expensive ones.

The Chevron down there is pretty shitty down there, no 94 octane.

our cars are the same as cars in hte states - the gas served in point bob comes from bellingham... i don't think there are all these cars in bellingham with SES lights on...

also, jared (its ian), your shop (brian's i presume) once did some work on my car (the green camaro), still had a hesitation - he blamed the gas i used, told me to use a higher octane - it was the air intake valve, i cleaned it, hesitation gone... its an easy scape goat for idiots... sorry to say, as i have gone back to brians with other issues in my family's cars - but don't trust the care and attention, based on that little use of blaming point roberts fuel

Extremely old bump, I know.

But does anybody know what the current gas prices are like in Point Roberts?

TypeRNammer 03-01-2010 04:48 PM

Last month it was about 90 cents USD per litre for premium, I think.

Don't quote me on it though, but I remember it was cheap!

freakshow 03-01-2010 05:03 PM

they'll always be roughly 20c less for regular

hchang 03-01-2010 05:05 PM

So they're still a bit more expensive than Bellingham?

lgman 03-01-2010 05:07 PM

There's a Chevron next to the TSB shipping centre. Filled at $0.85/L 2 weeks ago. All Chevrons in the lower mainland uses ~10% Ethanol now. :(

hirevtuner 03-01-2010 05:43 PM

i filled out on texaco 2 weeks ago 0.87/litre
texaco contains techron like chevron, i guess owned by the same subsiduary?
don't think it contains ethanol

Is 10% ethanol in the gas bad or good? What does it do?

d1 03-01-2010 06:17 PM

everytime I've went, it was $.89/L for 91 octane - a few cents less for regular.

keifun 03-01-2010 06:32 PM

went to Shell today in Blaine. It was $3.11 a gallon for V-Power...roughly $0.87/L CAD..

So much cheaper than pumping in at $1.2X/L back here at home.

gotta keep this thread going!!!

illicitstylz 03-02-2010 05:29 PM

Blaine Chevron on H street,$3.03 / gallon which works out to be around $0.85/L here (Regular 87)

you sound like goddamn customs man.

"How long have you been away from Canada?"
"15 minutes"
"what was the purpose of the trip? - Did you pick anything up?"
"filled up on gas, and picked up some cables"
"what is the total value of goods you are bringing to the border?"
"$2.50 USD"
"Alright sir can you please pull up at and come in please"
me thinking - WTF??!?!

and yes wtf I actually got brought in for $2.50 USD before. I guess the guy was bored. I counted pennies and dimes... I shoulda just screwed it and asked "you guys take visa for 20 cents?"

TypeRNammer 03-03-2010 12:02 AM

You got taxed for 2.50USD?!?!?
