The Canucks have always gone in cycles after the late 80s. We were a 100 pts/high 90s a year team in the early to mid 90s. Then it was the Messier Era that tore this team apart until the WCE era.
I would rather see the Canucks bring up the younglings to play for the team - even if we miss the playoffs and end up getting a high draft pick.
I'd love to see Hansen, Jaffary, Raymond, Grabner, Hodgson all up here next year. It would be better than seeing a bunch of 4th line pluggers.

anything to do with Grabner if plays, Should be put at best on 3rd line. See how he performs agains other 3rd line teams etc, let him put some #'s up an see if worth bumping to next line!
As for Nazzy, his time was done 3 yrs ago waste of cap an $. Mo, he should stay an if likes it here would take less money to stay then leave.
Think about getting Burtz back to get the fire again just sign a 1 yr deal for under 3mill, my final thought..
Bring up lil Reid to play again fast an can shoot an check. Faster skaters = less penalties (no hooking/tripping) cuz they can skate.. keeps us out of the box need to have the ' YOUNG GUNZ' its the new NHL step aside papa's

Fuck it, lets sign Jagr, Shanahan, Sakic, Forsberg, Nolan, Fedorov, Selanne. Put together our own '97 allstar team. | at this point. gillis doesn't have much choice. the wrong and stupid thing for him to do now is to wait on sundin. he's gotta say "fuck it" we don't need you anyways. and go pick up shanahan. seriously, he's the first UFA i would pick out of the remaining list right now. if he can ground avery last year...imagine what else he can do. remember "beggars can't be choosers" Quote:

Sabres have way too many forwards, especially RWs and desperately need a hard hitting stay at home D man. They lost the bidding on Orpik and are currently talking to Jason Smith, if Smith falls thru perhaps a Bieksa for one of the Sabres RWs not named Pominville would benefit both teams.
Sabres RW
Pominville
Bernier
Kotalik
Stafford
Afinogenov
Kaleta
On another Canuck related note, has anyone else been following the prospects camp? Grabner has put on a lot of muscle since last year and is about 185lbs, hes been training hard and aims to be at least 190lbs by training camp. If the Canucks can't bring in any UFA forwards maybe time to give Grabner a shot? | i'd take afinogenov for bieksa in a heartbeat Quote:

AV does line matching, so he can check the oppositions first line??
you think nasland is done?? well, NYR doesn't think so. east coast is nothing but offense. he'll be put on 2nd line, and you know what that means...no top pair defensemen. im pretty sure you can figure out the rest
as for burtuzzi, ya..good idea...lets take take a step forward by taking 3 steps back. brandon reid can't check, he's already shown that. but i will agree he can skate and shoot

aquilini is probably like the boss at work. constantly looking over your shoulder and checking up on your every 5 mins. i didn't mind mccaw, he stayed out of the spotlight and let burke handle things. i already said this in the old thread...aquilini's firing of nonis is either a very, very smart move, or he has begun to kill hockey in this town. and right now, i'd say its the latter.

Well to be fair to gill, this is suppose to be our rebuilding phase and rebuilding any team in any sport is usually hard and painful.

Up front, we have 2/3 of a first line. Second line we could probably patch something together with Wellwood and Pyatt. It's not like it was any better last yr. But we definitely need that impact first line.

Faster skaters = less penalties (no hooking/tripping) cuz they can skate.. keeps us out of the box need to have the ' YOUNG GUNZ' its the new NHL step aside papa's | wow this guys an idiot, lmao
