I was all excited when I saw Red Burrito go in, but come on, they are basically using donair meat to fill their burritos. You can't do that...

unit 07-28-2008 11:20 PM

^red burrito has been bad for me too. only went once and thought it was maybe slightly better than taco del mar, which is BAD. check out chipotles in washington for a better version of taco del mar

TACO SALAD r soooooooo. Good

a mexican guy told me their mexi-fries were pretty good too.. he never heard of mexi-fries before, tho :D

Yeah, I'm not usually a fan of the wrap style places but Chipotle is pretty good. Very good grilled meats and fresh ingredients (at least the one I used to go to). Didn't know they are in Washington. Which towns? Bellingham I hope since it's close.

I've read good reviews on a place called Dona Cata in South Van. Never been myself.

tcneo 10-26-2009 09:10 AM

you can try out Las Tortas http://www.lastortas.ca/ but they only have Sandwiches though. I tried it on Saturday and they are pretty good.

orange7 10-26-2009 11:49 AM

Dona Cata on Victoria Dr. seems what you're looking for. Considering what there is in Vancouver for authentic Mexican, I take it to be one of the best places for it..

Went to Don Cata a month ago and it was great. I've never had authentic mexican food before, but I ordered the chicken mole and it was a really good dish. I also ordered a horchata (a cinnamon flavoured milk drink) which was great since it soothes your mouth from spicy food.

Meowjin 10-26-2009 04:59 PM

horchata is a drink version of a greek desert... called rizogolo (rice pudding)... felt weird the first time i had it in arizona as my mom would make the greek dish when i was younger and i was drinking it!

i'm glad they have it though.... Didn't go today... just stayed at home and ate some leftover pastitstio

I'mma check out don cata on saturday

Yea was there a couple of weeks ago, it's pretty good. $10 for 4 tacos isn't exactly filling, but it's pretty tasty.

+1

Meowjin 10-27-2009 11:18 PM

for the record, real taco's don't have cheese in them.

Vansterdam 10-28-2009 06:16 AM

dona cata has cheese for an extra cost 50 cents each :lol i guess that counts

Phil@rise 10-28-2009 11:31 AM

I believe its called PePe's its on the west side of Denman nearest cross street is Robson. They even have a live mexican band for certain days of the week. They have a pretty complete menu not just taco's and burritos
