I am asking this because I really really regret not choosing Arts as second choice as Commerce rejected me...Now, it is too late to switch to Arts since school is going to very soon : ( | I know two people that's done it (switch from engineering to comm)... and a lot of people who have tried and failed.
1st year engineering course load is pretty brutal, lots of people don't make it through, let alone get a good enough average to transfer into comm. I mean, I'm not saying you won't be able to get a good average in engineering, but to play it safe I'd suggest taking a arts/comm course load instead, which you'll need to talk to a engineering advisor about as they need to know you won't be taking any engineering courses. I don't think you'll have any problems in terms of eligibility for enrolling in any arts courses, as I didn't when I wanted to transfer faculties.
If you know engineering isn't your thing, best switch out now, rather then 3 years into it like me.

if you are capable of transferring to commerce from engineering 1st year you would need a decent average... 70+, maybe 75+?
With that average you might be able to get into civil or mech 2nd year, which are the more competitive choices. you should give it a decent thought first. you have to stay on track though, because making yourself go to a 8 AM class in bad weather every morning takes discipline... haha

^Thanks for everyone's feedback!
I actually didn't bother applying for comm because it was really hard to get a decent average in the first year, lol. My average was definitely not high enough for the transfer.
I settled with EE traditional, and I highly recommend this program!

or....you can do wat one of my buddies did, the easy way,
go into arts and take commerce courses as electives and do good in 1st yr then transfer over
it delays your grad by 1/2 a yr | Just to clarify -graduation isn't delayed at all if you transfer into commerce after doing one year in arts. It does mean, however, that you pretty much take all commerce courses in second year. This is what I did.

Incorrect, what you need to do is tell them what you acheived while doing what you were doing.
SAR
Situational (What society/club/group/activity)
Action (what you were doing)
Results (as a result, what did you learn, acheive, accomplish)
When they ask for leadership. Talk about :
Cadets <- All my cadet friends got into Commerce talking about it. I got in the same way.
Duke of Edinborough if you have it
Competitive swimming/sports
Talk about teamsports, how you communicate and motivate one another.
In terms of admission: the better the supplemental, the lower your marks can be. When I say low, 85% is bare minimum. @The comment about SFU vs UBC Commerce.
You base this comment on what facts? Commerce program in SFU and UBC are different in people, culture, and experience. You can not compare. In the end, it is YOURSELF that will make your "degree" worth anything.
UBC is more worldknown making relocating easier. Especially if you are going into finance/wall street.
UBC has a program called PFM. Portfolio Fund Management where a group of 20 students manage a 5 million portfolio and does presentations to the stakeholders. A must-try experience for those who want to go into finance.
For Consulting, they have the SCMP program where they train you for consulting interviews and helps you earn you an interview with the big consulting firms including BCG, ACCENTURE, MCKINSEY. Increases your chances from 0.04% to 20% hiring rate, if you are successful in the program.

Think about it. To me (feel free to use this) leadership is not taking where your followers/peers/group wants to go but where they need to go. It isn't always the most comfortable or direct route but if it needs to taken, it is your job to show your followers/peers/group why they are taking it.

And i am stumbling upon what i should put for my additional information

Sorry to break it to you, but if you're asking for advice from RS, it's unlikely that you will get in.

For the record, I hate accountants and their big 4 culture. Bunch of fakes.
As for chicks in business/commerce... either school will have tons of hot chicks in year 1... then they slowly get weeded out until you're left with the Asian rainbow pants, circle glasses, pencil case-carrying chicks in your 400 level accounting classes... *shudder*
For what it's worth, I've also had a lot of UBC Science students tell me Business at SFU is better than UBC Commerce. Of course, they're science students so I don't really think they know what they're talking about.
