you're allowed to take the same course twice, max (unless you have permission to do otherwise).

You may have up to 5 duplicate courses on your SFU transcript, with any one course only being allowed to be duplicated once. Only the better grade is counted into your CGPA at SFU. The lower graded course is still on your transcript, but the grade is not counted. Permission for extra duplicate attempts is obtained from the Dean’s Office (not at School/Department level).

You could if your advisor helps you out. If not, talk to someone with more power like the dean or associate dean of the department and start begging. If you have a legitimate enough excuse for failing the course you could always apply to drop the course and get an WE instead of an F as well.

Hey has anyone taken Bus 381 intro to human resource management? I was planning on taking it as an elective, any heads up for this course whether I should take it as an elective or not? Im an econ major.

this was a prereq for my degree.

DO NOT TAKE IT.

it is a complete waste of time. you do not learn anything you couldn't from a simple google search.

isn't it a WD?

you can only apply to drop the course and get a WD instead of an F within the first 4 or 5 weeks of the semester. you get none of your tuition back. after a certain deadline, you can't get a WD, only an F.

Yup! This is correct. I've been hearing a lot of different stories. A lot of my friends had tried to talk to different advisor, but no luck at all. A WD can be only done within the first month of the semester, otherwise an F. I think they're playing strict on this now. Stories from the graduants were a several years ago, it was with more possibilities trying to talk to different advisors to get a WD if you're lucky. But as of now, I don't think so.

hey guys so I'm taking math 157 and the book we using is applied calculus: for the managerial, life, and social sciences .. I was wondering is there like no solution key for this or something ? I'm just wondering because when I took precalc there was a student solution key for odd questions but I didn't find anything like that for this book.

Purely 01-04-2012 12:07 AM

^ Which edition do you have? There should be solution key for odd answers in the back.

The the above person said, they do have answers for the ODD questions. The prof selects EVEN questions for HW, so you won't be getting those.

Don't go to the guy on campus. That's all I have to say.

o wow thanks I totally didn't even notice that but those are just like the final numeric value right, I was wondering if there was a full solution key even if its just for odd #'s just to see all the steps and processes, I did a quick google check and I found a bunch for like 8th and 9th edition, mine is the "enhanced edition" ...

How busy are the skytrains/SFU buses at production way between 2:30 to 3:30? Taking a class at Surrey for the first time till 2:30 but have to get back to Burnaby at 3:30 for a tutorial.

Yup it's just the final answer. Prof will provide full answer key for the questions he/she assign (mine did).

Langara accepted credit cards, but Visa/Mastercard/banks will charge you a portion of that. It's easier for students but it costs the college money. I worked at Langara and they've been contemplating on only accepting cash, checks or online bank transfers.

SFU only accepts the aforementioned methods. I recommend direct online banking. Keep in mind that it takes a couple days for checks and bank transfers to process.

They don't have it. I know it sucks!

But that course was pretty easy as long as you do your homework BEFORE hand. Practice is key for the midterms and final. Keep doing problem sets and if you ever get too confused ... Google these two guys:

Khan Academy and PatrickJMT ...

They make online videos to explain questions and concepts. More importantly, they're very precise and engaging.

Last thing, I really hope you didn't get Jedwab as your prof. He's an idiot.

They're your math labs.

Different courses should have different assigned ones. IIRC, all courses will be a lab assigned to them.
