i use a sowing needle to just gently pry open the clips. do it to both clips on one side and the rest just comes out, it may even fly out!

IT HAS NO KEYBOARD LOCK

I don't have that listed anywhere in either the convenience key menu or in the bb main menu.

I looked for it, it wasn't there.

I downgraded to .592 again. Not the end of the world, I'll go back when there's a newer, more stable version.

Graeme, I just figured out where the keypad lock is, its the mute button at the top of the phone. It no longer puts the phone into standby, all you do is hold it for about a second and the screen goes black, then if you hit the end call button it says that the keypad is locked, press mute button to unlock. I can't believe that I didn't notice it before

Same. The button doesn't really stick out for me so it's hard to press. Now I don't want to upgrade my phone anymore

Is there anyway to update to the latest OS and keep the old way of locking the phone?

any of you guys who use the facebook app for your 9000's experiencing freezing? My gf just got her bold about 2 weeks ago, yesterday she told me that whenever she would open up the facebook program her phone would freeze. I looked it up online and it looks like its common. When she's using facebook through the web browser its fine so I just told her to do that from now on. Just trying to see if its happening to alot of other users

So how do you guys update your OS? Do you do it through loader.exe?
Because for some reason I can't do that, loader.exe only shows a bunch of third-party apps.. HELP PLEASE !

did you delete vendor.xml ?

Are you doing it through the DM or through apploader?

Yes I deleted vendor.xml.
I tried using DM, but it didn't work so I searched around and found out people are using loader.exe inside the apploader folder.
So yeah, right now I'm trying to do it with loader.exe

Depending on the systems I've used, I have two pieces of advice:

XP:
Install the OS you want to upload. Delete vendor.xml. Do not restart as it suggests and just run it through loader.exe

Win7:
Install the OS you want to upload. Delete vendor.xml. Restart, then use loader.exe

Don't ask me why it works differently on my different systems, but that's the way it's worked for me.

I'm vista, so I'll try both. LOL
but what exactly is supposed to happen at the "loader.exe" stage?
where can I load the OS. because right now it only shows the third party apps

It's supposed to recognize the OS right away. Try this:

1. Uninstall all versions of the OS on your computer.
2. Then, install the version of OS you want. Delete vendor.xml
3a. Try installing without restarting.
3b. try installing after restart.
4. ????
5. profit

Goddamnit.

My phone was on the clock screen for a good 5 minutes so, like usual, I decided to battpull. Well now the BB load screen shows up and it loads the first two millimetres, and then it shuts off again.

I have bricked my phone.

A friend suggested I call rogers (not an option 'til tomorrow 'cause....no phone = no phone 'til I can borrow the work line), so anyone got any suggestions on walkthroughs in the meanwise? Any ideas how I can get my computer to acknowledge my phone so I can wipe it and reload it?
