i have to do the battery pull daily. its a hit or miss, but pretty much 50% of the time, the phone gets hot and the battery drains super fast!

already bought a 2nd battery, which does the same thing.

time for a new phone? ill give a 3rd battery a try next weekend. otherwise, the phone only lasts a day at most...

I find that my phone functions much better after leaving the RS BBM group.

I would consistently get around 10mb of free application memory. I left the group and now its jumped up to 24mb of free app memory. No need to do a batt pull yet so it looks like I've solved the issue of lag and batt pulls for now.

A friend suggested I call rogers (not an option 'til tomorrow 'cause....no phone = no phone 'til I can borrow the work line), so anyone got any suggestions on walkthroughs in the meanwise? Any ideas how I can get my computer to acknowledge my phone so I can wipe it and reload it?

This exact same thing happened to me, so I'll save you from being stuck on the phone with Rogers for 45 min. That is if you havent fixed this problem already

EDIT: actually I found the article for it here, the Rogers rep walked me through this exact same thing, so I just summed it up in coles notes below. hope this helps

http://crackberry.com/blackberry-101...ked-blackberry

1) go to my computer> drive C> program files> common files> research in motion> apploader

2) click and open the Loader application (icon should look like a small cell phone with a small screen behind it)

3) plug phone in with battery, then check in the box that says "detect communication port"

4) when you get to the screen that tells you to pick which apps/programs you want to put back into the phone, pick all of the important stuff your phone needs ie databases etc.

- keep in mind loading the phone again might take a few minutes, and when everything is done and your phone is rebooting again, it will take longer than usual so leave it be while the clock is on the screen (for me it took almost 10 min)

good luck, this happened to me twice in a week and trust me it's a pain in the ass.

You'll probably get more "reliable" responses over at CrackBerry then here. Try asking them
