FS: 1997 Volvo 850R (modified) - now $8000 OBO! Hi guys, I would really like to see this car sold as I'll be getting a new one relatively soon, so I've dropped the price to $8,000 OBO. Coles notes first: Car: 1997 Volvo 850R (modified, see below) Colour: Red exterior / Charcoal Alcantara Leather Interior KMs: 163,000 km Transmission: Automatic Claims: Nothing over $2000 Price: $8,000 OBO I have up for sale my 1997 Volvo 850R. The car is red, with charcoal Alcantara leather inside. The engine is a 2.3L Turbocharged Inline 5 Cylinder, and it's Front Wheel Drive. It’s been my pride and joy since 2002 (I love Volvos), when I purchased it from Don Docksteader Volvo with 67,000 kms on it. At present, it has 163,000 km. For those that know me, I have babied this car since its purchase, and I’ve really enjoyed owning it. It’s just time for a change after 6 years of driving it. Car runs great at present with no known issues. The condition of the interior is near mint, and the exterior is very good, but could use a nice polish as some fading is present on the rear. The wheels do have a fair amount of curb rash on them, and could use a touch up. The main differences between the 850R and the regular 850 Turbo are a different front spoiler and rear spoiler, suspension, ECU Tune (240 bhp stock vs. 222 bhp), interior (alcantara leather with special sports seats), rims (17” Volans stock). The car is an automatic, which makes for a great daily driver. For those wanting a 5 speed, the swap is actually not that costly, and relatively straight forward. I toyed with the idea, but since it’s my daily commuter, I decided against it. It comes with complete documentation from Don Docksteader, both after my purchasing it, and before as well (they gave me a printout). It’s been serviced at Docksteader since it was born, so they know the car very well. The only claim to happen under my watch is a minor dent in the left front fender that occurred in a parking lot. I took it to ICBC and the replaced the fender and paint matched some of the surrounding areas. I believe the total after taxes was $1700 (I have the ICBC report). That was back in 2003. Previous to that, I know that there was nothing over $2000, but I can’t find the carfax we had when we purchased the car to get every detail. Needless to say, I wouldn’t have bought it if there was anything of significance wrong, but I’m happy to run a Carfax for anyone seriously considering the car. Modifications are as shown below: Engine RICA Engineering ECU (advertised as 304 bhp) K&N Panel Air Filter HKS SSQV Blow off valve AGP Blanking Plate and removal of the stock bypass valve on the turbo IPD Exhaust tip (replaced OEM one) – downpipe/exhaust are stock, I’m not really a fan of loud exhausts Suspension/Handling OMP Strut Brace IPD Sway Bars (Front and Rear) The suspension is the stock 850R suspension, which consists of uprated R springs; I believe the shocks are stock. Exterior Front VST style fibreglass lip (not shown in the pics, this is a recent addition) Wheels are authentic 18" Pegasus rims from the S60R Tires are 225/35/18 Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 with good tread left The headlights and signal lights are Black Jewels, with LED Black Jewel sidemarkers 8500K HIDs in both the Headlights and Fog Lights IPD Black Mesh grille with OEM “R” insignia on it Headlight wipers removed and colour-matched OEM piece put in it’s place Interior Defi BF Series Boost and EGT gauge mounted on A-pillar, with Defi Link Control Unit mounted in glove box Pictures: (Please note that I've removed the TWR stickers from the car) http://volvospeed.com/vs_forum/uploa..._473_29897.jpg http://volvospeed.com/vs_forum/uploa...5_473_8229.jpg http://volvospeed.com/vs_forum/uploa...473_102861.jpg http://volvospeed.com/vs_forum/uploa..._473_67700.jpg http://volvospeed.com/vs_forum/uploa..._473_64604.jpg http://volvospeed.com/vs_forum/uploa..._473_77870.jpg And that’s about it. I have a lot of OEM parts remaining (stock headlights/turn signals, stock R sway bars, etc.) that I’ll throw in with the car as well. As the car stands, I am asking $8000 OBO. I’m really hoping the car finds a good home, as I put a lot of time and effort into it. PM is the best way to reach me. I’m happy to answer any questions and to arrange a viewing/test drive if they buyer is serious about the car. Thanks for reading! |
