i heard that if you've changed to the new no saf plans, it automatically disqualifies you from hup and retention plans. maybe thats why?

nipples 08-10-2009 08:15 PM

my plan: didnt know i posted it in the rogers thread...but yeah

450DT
unlimited eve/wknd at 5pm
voice mail, caller id, name id?? <--wtf never heard of this before
2500 txt messages sent
unlimited email/ bbm
1Gb BIS

taxes + SAF + credits it comes out to $51.50 woohoo!!
going to knock it down another 5 by changing it to 500mb

simsimi1004 08-10-2009 08:41 PM

^ name id is when u can see the registered name of the #.
so if i called u, with caller id, u would see my ### on the phone, and with name id, u would see my name even though im not saved in ur contacts
(only certain phones support this)

aznrsx1979 08-11-2009 08:06 PM

I ended up renewing with Fido. I ended up with:
200min anytime
Unlimited Incoming
Unlimited Fido to Fido
Unlimited Evening and Weekends at 7
500 MB data
Voicemail
Caller ID
Who Called
2500 Text Messages
1000 Instant Messages

Total is about $62 after taxes. I ended up getting one of the 3G Iphones since I had the Fido dollars to cover it.

I tried to get it so I could get the Iphone but the few csr's I talked to said that they couldn't add it on to get the phone. From how it sounded, they would've added it on if I got one of the other phones.

alex.w *// 08-12-2009 09:05 PM

^ does that 150mb for $15 exist now?

aznrsx1979 08-12-2009 09:29 PM

The $15 - 150MB is a retention data plan. They have one for the Blackberry also. It's been mentioned on HoFo. When you ask for it they ask you how you heard about it and what not because it hasn't been advertised. But it does exist.

nipples 08-13-2009 02:15 AM

^for the bb one, is that 15$ for email + bbm + 150Mb? Or just 150mb?

aznrsx1979 08-13-2009 05:52 AM

This is what was mentioned on HoFo in one of the Fido threads:

Non-BlackBerry devices:
$15 - 150MB (available with or without term)
$40 - 3GB (available with or without term)

BlackBerry devices:
$15 - 50MB (available with or without term - BIS only)

The $15 Blackberry one is just for the data only (50MB).

carmaniac 08-17-2009 05:48 PM

Here's the plan I got...thanks to this forum:

200mins
6GB data
5pm unlimited eve/wkds
Call display
Enhanced voicemail
2500 text msgs
Free local Fido-to-Fido
No system fees

$69 incl. taxes

MelonBoy 08-19-2009 09:32 AM

^
did u get a discounted phone with that?

From what i heard the looop to the "No system fees" is once u have it, u cant get a new phone at discounted price (so when u renew a contract, ur pretty much oding it for nothing)

Only if its the new plans. The ones from retention that don't have the saf is still eligible for HUP

Aloger 08-24-2009 05:29 PM

I called fido today and they quickly offered me:

200 daytime minutes
unlimited weeknights and weekends starting at 7
caller id
voice mail
2500 texts
fido to fido
NO saf and no 911

All for $25 plus tax

I told him I will call back since i have to think about it and he said this offers lasts 30 days

So i call back about 2 hrs later saying i want to accept the plan and this lady says, "oh sorry I can't give you this plan" I was like why not the man i talked to earlier said I have 30 days to get this plan. She then says well you are on a basic plan right now and we are unable to offer plan to customers with a basic package.

So is this true or what the hell is going on? I have been with fido for 9 months now, so do I have to wait longer until I can get a retention plan or do I not qualify for a retention plan because I got a contract once the no saf came into effect?

Thanks in advance

kayceeee 08-24-2009 06:54 PM

no retention plans on basic plans, which are all those ones u see on fido.ca with the no saf

I thought the new fido to fido retention plan does not include caller-id. If you really want CID, you would have to pay 6 or 7 bucks for it.

but it doesn't make sense. Since i'm applying another contract with Fido, i'll most likely want to get another phone with the retention plan. I just don't see how I can get another phone over a phone line. I'll want to see what phones they have and stuff like that.

fuk.. so much work to get a retention plan. This just makes me wanna switch to another company.
