Web Design

Hey guys!

I'm looking to go back to school to upgrade my web design, seems every graphic designer needs to know it now, and I'm only hindering myself by knowing the basics.

Has anyone taken or heard of a program that is really well taught? I've looked at BCIT and VCC, but I'd like to hear some personal experiences if anyone has any. I'm also looking for a course that is relatively inexpensive (I already owe about $30k for my time served at AI).

Thanks for any help!

The only advice I can give you is persistence.

Look at this website: http://cssremix.com
You have to compete with them.

I don't know any good schools here in Vancouver, but ask local 'professional/excellent' web designers and ask them for advice.

i'm not a web designer but which area of web design are you looking at? UI for web, technical structure? Are you looking to code css/html or learn dreamweaver? etc..

i just completed the Associate Certificate in Web Development from BCIT, i enjoyed it alot, although it probably took way longer then it should have, about 2.5 years for 30 credits, there is alot of good stuff to it, and there is a tonne of variation

only shitty thing is some of the good classes u want to take are like 1.5 credits, so it kinda sucks that way, but some of them are definately worth it

with that certificate u can really gear yourself towards the design side, or the coding side, personally i took 2 PHP and C courses and decided to stay as far away from possible to those lol
