again..my mom does this type of shit, few people from this site have gotten flowers from her before, they've had nothing but amazing remarks.

k2_alpha 01-25-2009 10:56 PM

there a place directly across from the IGA at Dunbar and 41
great flowers and good prices

got half a dozen roses and half dozen lilies for $30 including tips!

143what 01-25-2009 11:17 PM

that place on kings way and i dont remember the cross street.. it's in between fraser and glen drive on the south west corner... they have the best flowers in vancouver. i've been to a lot of florists and vancouver and richmond and i'm telling you that this place is the best.

Look at prices, then look at flower meanings. Sometimes roses can get REALLY old.

If she's allergic you can invest in one of those sealed flowers in a clear case.

$14.99 for a Dozen @ Safeway!

:D hahahaha

stewie 01-26-2009 02:48 PM

price wise...the cheaper the price...the older the flower is usually = you get a floral arrangement that lasts 4-5 days...up to a week if your lucky.

high priced quality flowers = until you stop watering them lol...or around 2 weeks give or take a few days

Mugen EvOlutioN 01-27-2009 09:53 AM

Has anyone heard of company policy for a florist to call the person receiving the flowers to make sure they are home when the delivery guy comes? I had this incident today and they stupid company called my girlfriend and totally ruined her suprise. I have had flowers delivered to her before from other companies, but never had they called her. They could have called me. SO NEVER EVER USE VINS FLOWERS ON SLOCAN STREET IN VANCOUVER!!!

keenken427 02-13-2010 05:41 PM

I bought flowers from Vin's last year and my gf loved them!

Guess you should've told them not to call if it was that important to you...

mikee 02-20-2010 01:53 PM

guess they should have said it was company policy or maybe better yet they should have wrote it in fine print for someone to read it and sign on it since they don't even take the time to tell you. I wonder how many suprises they ruined. Imagine it was a proposal and the gf knew. Anyone would be choked!

what did they say over the phone? id assume its normal if they just call and ask for the person to see if they're home, and just hang up once they kno they're there. if they said sth along the lines of "Hi is ____ home, we have an order of flowers that are being delivered", then yah that's kinda retarded.

Did you give them your GF's number?

If you did, then it really is your fault. Should have given them your cell so that they can refer to you and not call the house.

yes, lots of florists do this, its up to you to tell them not to call. you can not blame the flower shop in this case.
