some asian actors were pretty bad

I hated how the asian kids talked like they were black. That more or less ruined quite a bit but the movie.

My cousins who live in SoCal talk like that and 99.9% of every Asian American I've encountered in SoCal talk like they're black, I sometimes feel like asking them to speak proper English.

saw this last night, i thought it was fairly good. i agree about the acting comments. I did some reading and almost every asian actor in the movie had no previous acting experience.. they were specifically looking for Hmong people. Not sure if that was the right choice haha. (though you definitely earn respect from the Hmong population, especially after all the racist name calling;) )

But eastwood was amazing and i thought the plot was fairly good if not simple. I thought it was very much like a modern fairy tale.

Like the others said the acting from the supporting cast was bad but the movie overall was pretty good. I'm a big fan of Clint Eastwood so I might be kind of biased but there aren't many people out there that have his presence.

Just watched this and absolutely loved it. It's a serious movie but I definitely had a chuckle here and there with Clint Eastwood's character.

Fucking brilliant movie.

The movie was pretty good. I would have thought the movie would show more of his prized car.
Clint did not want to do any more movies after Million dollar baby, but when he read the script, there was no one that would do the job better than him.
It was a decent movie, the change of his character, opening up with the 26 yr old Father, relationship between the kid and the ending was decent, which ended the story well.

The asian characters were ok, the girl was overly friendly and it wouldn't have worked for normal viet / honger / chinese setup cause no one would possibly bring that much flowers/food to the front door for someone. The chemistry between Clint and the kid was decent and Clint did take a great job being who he was. The transition between being a hater to being a decent neighbour wasn't forced at all so I found it believeble which was a surprise.

I would give this a decent 8.5

Saw it last night, absolutely amazing movie.

Pretty hilarious too. Didn't mind the asian acting either, but then again, I didn't look out specifically for it.

As my wife put it, most of the Asian actors looked like amateurs - pretty wooden reciting lines, and very rigid in their blocking... like the director said "stand here" so they just stood there. The only other character who was really an established actor already (at least the only one I recognized) was the barber, he was pretty good.

i think they used amatures because clint wanted to have realism
