Wow, on Saturday, there was a power outage in Cypress. I was stuck in a lift in pure darkness. I think for 15 or so minutes. Pretty freaky after the first 10 mins.... and cold. Good thing they got the power back on, but they closed the mountain afterwards. Only had 3 runs. I hope it doesn't happen again.

I also saw a Cypress bus in the ditch at the side of the road. Poor travelers.

Not local, but they do have a local distributor.

They were one of the first companies to use a local liner however.

The intuition liners are based in vancouver.

Something to be proud of.

Not sure. I always have my boots heat molded (hockey & snowboarding) so I don't really know how an unmolded feels like. However, it can very well depend on your shape.

I have narrow feet so I fit in easy with many boots. But this boot feels like I'm playing with running shoes. Of course, it could be just a preference thing. I'm partial to boots that are light-weight plus soft all around. I remember Vangruver likes his boots stiff. So I guess what's great for me may not be great for some.

Yes, but keep in mind that any heat moldable liner only allows roughly 3 molds in it's life.

What works just like placing it in the oven is to wear it around the house as you normally would and it will take a little longer, but still mold to your foot.

i read around the bfb's r similar to the rulers (which i currently have) regarding stiffness
but having used the rulers for 4 or 5 yeras... they are as soft as a pillow

Athletic stance, and looking where you're going.

If you go at a jump with stiff legs and going at it blind you will more than likely off axis yourself and not land correctly.

if you know the basics of any regular spin, the key is to start the spin with your arms, your shoulders and then your head.

that will give you the wind up for any big spin.

inverted spins? shoulders then head.

To complete a spin you MUST keep your head looking for that landing. or at least in the same direction as your spin.

Awesome tips. I'm still trying to learn 180s though. I just started getting confident with doing bigger jumps and landing them with proper form.

Think it's better to learn to land jumps switch before learning 180's?

Before you try and land switch, you should ride switch just as well as you can regular.

When I coached, i would literally force my students to ride switch as fast as possible, with the most control as possible. on moderately difficult conditions.

Put it this way, if you were to do a backside 180, where your landing is completely blind, you must be 100% confident in your switch riding, because then you'd be able to ride out of anything that comes up your way.

another epic day at big white today.

im starting to like going by myself lately. gives me a chance to work on improving aspects of my riding that i cant when im with someone else. especially if the other person only wants to ride different terrain/styles.

Alright. Tonight, I practice switch riding. I've been working on it for a few sessions, but fear takes over when I start to go faster. Those epic switch falls send cracking noises up my spine. I'm gonna try a full run riding switch. See how that goes.

I really like electronic beepity-bop music when I'm riding. Feels like a video game. I also like epic music. Seems to suit the snowy high altitude ambiance.

Rap with monotone beats seem to work well if you wanna feel gansterrrr. :P

Don't forget the surf music and reggae. But I'm kinda a hippie.... so yeah...

Artists: Figurine, Chemical Brothers, Hooverphonic, Nujababes (Nice!), MF Doom (beats), Ol Dirty Bastard, Chicane, Freeze Pop, Towa Tei, The Hustlers, Armin Van Buuren SOT episodes.
