Not true, it's complicated but worth listening to.

If you don't want to participate in Network Marketing, it's your own choice. As part of selling this product, we're not forcing people....

The vitamins are one point, and making money is just an extra!

I joined Quixtar about a year ago. I was pretty excited about it at first, but a few days after joining I realized how much of a cult it was and got out. These "network marketing" schemes brainwash you into thinking you can get rich and be successful just like them. Become a part of the team they say.

I've met one guy that actually LOST money because to get started, you pretty much have to be your own first customer and spend your money on samples to try and share your product with others. I've had friends turn into total weirdo's because they became so involved with trying to recruit people and sell their shit that they weren't even really friends anymore.

there's a right way and a wrong way to do any business.

if you're not cut out for it, then you aren't.

the best thing about network marketing is the power of association. you're associating with people who are actually movers and shakers. when you talk to the higher ups, they have this aura about them that's very different. you also get to know how the wealthy think. that's the secret of success. understanding how the mentality of the wealthy and incorporating their values in your life.

anyways THC, if you're reading this thread, you got to educate yourself to be successful in the business. all the higher ups are very well-read and educated people. they don't become wealthy just from hustling. that's just the mechanical part. there's also the mental/will-training part. i have some required reading material that i don't use anymore. pm me if you want motivational books, tapes etc.

don't pitch your oppurtunity at me because you can never outslick a can of oil.

Shun Izaki 11-16-2008 07:33 PM

This is almost as bad as the primerica fucks who call me everyday because of the coporations i've worked for, my name's out there....

asian_XL 11-16-2008 08:24 PM

if people have the network, they shouldn't even think about joining these crappy marketing companies. They pay shitty commission and products aren't really the top of the line.

I would prefer selling life insurance rather than that. 40-60% commission + servicing fee (another 3% per monthly payment). At least you don't have to buy the product first before start selling...

Skyliner 11-17-2008 02:14 PM

If you think you have too many friends in your life, you can weed them out by pitching network marketing to them :)

q0192837465 11-17-2008 03:03 PM

arent MLMs illegal. But yea, I've done MLM b4. hahaha, all I can say is run the other way when something is remotely similar to MLM because chances are that it is.

boss_clad 11-17-2008 04:40 PM

i remember usana from like 4 years ago..i'm quite suprised that bullshit is still around

the guy that i met at the office, he was talkin bout usana skin products with a pimple ridden face...too funny

MDMA 11-17-2008 06:03 PM

that sounds like a idea similar to a compnay im involed with called WFG (world financial group) its the same idea wit the tree and all, but u sell insurance and other bank products to people basically ur the middle man for the bank, its ur own business, u can take it as slow as u want do it on the side or if ur a real hustler u can start makin seirous coin within 2 - 3 months, they say after 5 years u can be financially retired, and i kno ppl who are in their 40's been doin this for abour 3 years and makin like 200-400 K a year not even jokin 1 bit, the man who introduced the idea here in BC started exactly 5 years ago and he recently had a retirement party and is makin 1,000,000 a year, i personally dont think sellin vitamins is a very profitable idea, but givin everyday people the financial advice that all teh ballers get def wil help u make ur money, u just gota be determined and focused cant listen to all the people who doubt u thinkin ur one of those people who ring ur doorbell askin u to join some comapny...

Drow 11-17-2008 09:31 PM

"systematic tree format" is a fancy name for Pyramid Scheme.

yah i know of Usana, and people who do it to make money as well.

IF and only IF you put that time and effort into recruiting people under you, as well as willing to lose face at times when people accuse you of trying to hook them under a pyramind scheme, then you will have a chance at making some money.

the people who have a ton of people under them make some serious money. its a good side income, while putting in little work AFTER you hook people under you. i guess it really depends how you present this "scheme" out to people.

BNR32_Coupe 11-17-2008 10:36 PM

Just don't pressure your friends to buy the stuff.

willystyle 11-21-2008 02:54 AM

You don't even need to sell with Usana and you can make a shitload by just recruiting.

raygunpk 11-21-2008 05:08 AM

How many people do you need to recruit?

$_$ 11-21-2008 08:28 AM

Thanks for all the people that have given helpful advice.

Thats right, selling the vitamins give you very little. But honestly, I really believe the vitamins help, so I will try to sell it because I think they work for me

I think you need like 4 people to break even every month ? I didn't hardcore look into this.

The thing is guys, the people above me are fast recruiters, but their only gonna be willing to help you with ONE side of the tree. Im basicly set for one side, but their way to motivate me to hustle on my own is if i dont recruit, i cant make any money because you can make as much as your lowest side, which in my case, one side right now has tons of people while the other is empty. Im just lookng to break even every month first and than eat my vitamins for free :D

Do network marketing/pyramid/MLM if:
1) you want to make money via signing people up rather than actually selling a product.
2) you want to learn "sales" of networks and American Dream more than actual product because products of similar (if not better) quality and value can be found elsewhere.
3) you want to burn friendships
4) you want others to talk behind your back and rolleyes everytime you start your sales pitch at a social function.
5) you want to walk into any social function and look for people to pitch. Sales pitches tend towards: a) Achieving your goals "What kind of goals/dreams do you have in your life? can you imagine what it might be like if you had the financial freedom to achieve those goals?" or b) Personal testimony: "Hey, have you heard about quix-usana-primer-wfg-amway-monavie-herbalife corp? I recently tried their ____ and noticed real changes in my health/body/finances, etc. ...
6) you want to hangout less with friends that have proved to be your friends and hangout more with "positive" groups living out the "dream".
7) you want your close family and supporters to feel like they're buying stuff from you out of pity or "support" rather than really wanting the product you're selling.

If you can do MLM/network/pyramid AND avoid all the above, then you probably will do well at any sales job. So you will probably do well in the system. That's great for you! you've found something you're wired for. Learn from it and grow.

If you do MLM/network/pyramid because you think it's an easy way to make a quick buck, then you've got other things to learn about life and business - like social skills, responsibility and hard work. You can learn those things in other environments without putting your existing relationships at risk.

Just my two cents...

$_$ 11-21-2008 08:40 AM

^^ good post

chunk_stir 11-21-2008 09:12 AM

oh sorry... one more to add to the list.

8) you want to be discarded like a used tampon when your upline "friend/mentor" realizes that you can't bring in the numbers because you lack social skills, responsibility and/or hard work. So you find yourself with neither friends from your network, or the real friends you had before.

Then, you either humbly go back to your real friends and rebuild the friendships and go work on your social skills, responsibility and hard work like most successful people. Or face a life of desperately trying to meet people on facebook/msn and tugging your tool to online porn with nothing to show for your time except a couple boxes of vitamins/supplements/cleaning products sitting in your closet/garage. And you now realize those great products you once shamelessly plugged could have been purchased costco/superstore/online for a better price and didn't cost you your friendships.

That pretty much sums it up. Good post indeed.
I am sure at some point we have all been there before. It can leave a real bad taste in your mouth when you buddy pitches it to you and you feel forced, bullied or guilted into this shit.

If you can recruit 4 people within the first 42 days when you join the program, you become a platinum pacesetter, hence allowing you to make about $600USD (realistically about $800USD/week including other sources from autoship, sales, etc.). With an exchange rate of 1 USD = 1.425 CAD (company rate), you can pull in well over $3500CAD/month by just recruiting your first 4 people.

yvrnycracer 11-21-2008 01:36 PM

these are all disguised pyramid schemes... this, isagenix, avon etc etc... go down the list! ... None of these "opportunities" sell a product when it comes down to it... 9 times out of 10, the product is the "business opportunity" and the contacts will eventually run out! Only the people who were there in the very beginning will actually hit these goals that the company brags about when they are making the sale to you! The one I have always heard is "Warren Buffet owns several of these company's"... my response is that owning the brand or the idea will always make money because there is always a sucker who will buy into it...

Stay far far away from these... because you will end up losing friends, contacts and quite possibly your self respect and many many dollars!!!

wow. you just summed it up. i remember my friend throwing me the same fucking sales pitch each time and inviting me to brainwash "meetings". it was funny too cause he pretty much exhibited every single point you made :haha:

LiquidTurbo 04-25-2009 01:56 AM

My friend is super pumped into this, with a new product MAXGXL (google it).

Anyone have any personal testimony with MLM? As in, anyone able to actually make this shit work out?

El Bastardo 04-25-2009 02:27 AM

I read somewhere that MAXGXL makes your dick almost as tiny as bumping old threads does.

The reason im asking is because I recently joined the Usana network marketing and i was wondering how many people and what kind of people would actually join or be interested in this concept and what are the best ways to approach people.

For those that may not know, what network marketing is is it basicly has a base product, in my case Usana (multivitamins, etc etc) and you invite people to join "under you" in a systematic tree format. Directly under you will be two people, and those two people would invite two people each thus expanding your tree exponentially. The more people that are under you, the more money you will be making on a monthly basis.

The person that got me into doing this is starting to make some good coin, and she's already helped me established one side of the tree. But im still haveing plenty of trouble getting people to join.

What are you guys thoughts? Have you been offered to join network marketing? Which one ? What have your experiences been with this ? How do I get people to join?

Personally, i think its quite a good idea. The vitamins from Usana, if you look it up is world famous, and i've felt the change from eating them too. Before i started eating the usana multivitamin packets, it was hard to wake up in the morning. But after i have started taking them, in the morning it has become rather easy to just wake up. I also feel more energized too.

Anyone intersted lol ?

This is the website for anyone thats interested.

Pyramid Schemes are all over the place in many different forms; I'd definatly say stay away from this.
