Defending street racers doesnt make good news.
Exposing street racers and making them look dangerous is what everyone wants to hear.
What did you think they were going to do to your interview? You didnt see it coming?
Besides, half of what you said is bullshit, they probably had you do some crappy acting, like when you go under the hood of your car and start touching parts for no reason. Im sure that was part of the interview.
Come on.

How many people here remember when racing at Minnam/Deltaport/Ikea/Iona Beach etc was big back in the mid/late 90's. How many people remember those guys that did the interview on the news?
I was one of those guys. Though I didn't say anything, I didn't agree with some of the stuff that was said by other people that night.
Freddy, you are a tool and no one cares about your side of the story because you admitted you guys would find a road, block it off and race. There is no way to edit that. You are a RETARD.

Drag racing is the ultimate test of your car, and the driver's ability to put the power down. It's WOT for as long as you have room, and done well, it's a blast.
Some people can do it, while others run 15's in their STi's. Quote:

We all learned many years ago that the media are nothing more than whores. They use sensational stories like this to drum up emotion, and sell more papers, and advertising.
It's a proven fact that happy stories don't sell.
Until we get some sort of media integrity, we'll see a negative spin put on everything. It sells. Quote:

The majority wanted your head on a stake. That's the mindset of people nowadays. The vast majority is not for automotive sports. In fact, take a cross section of Vancouver and ask them to support racing, and most would tell you to go to hell. Quote:

That was the first time I saw the news spin something to their own advantage. And the interviewee's gave them lots of ammunition.

Hence, those guys said things I didn't agree with.
Ask SG. He went into his interviews all prepared. He put a positive spin on what RS did/does but in the end happy/sappy/positive stories does not sell newspaper nor gain viewers so they can sell advertisment airtime.

Damn. Media is evil. They always twist stories to make people believe what they want.
This is exactly how celebrity stories get altered all the time. To be honest, it's sad, but even I have to say I take legit newspapers with a grain of salt on what I read. The only thing I can fully trust is the scores posted in the sports section, because that has no way to be fabricated.
Even driving your car to excessive speeds (which is over 50 on the street, over 70-100, depending on which highway/freeways) is very, very, negative in the media. Which means media will tell society that it's very, very bad. So the minute you admited you even use your cars for racing (anywhere), the media frowned already. Anything you said after that won't matter. Even if you said you race on a track, they will find a way to make society think even racing on a legal track is bad.
BTW, in that interview, did you just say "Mission" ? Knowing the media, they will twist it and claim you just admitted to racing in all the streets in Mission. And most people won't know there's a race track there which is what you're actually trying to imply.
See, I don't really care what goes on. I assume everyone with a sportscar is gonna open it up and rip it all over the place when the oppurtunity does come. If you deny this, I know you're lying. No car enthusiast buys a sports car to drive like it's a Honda Fit. Hell, I even know some people rip it up in Fit's. Just takes longer to get to "ripping it up" speeds. But there should be three criteria in doing so.
(1) Use your brains. Do it on a long stretch of STRAIGHT, DRY road like on a highway at night like 3am.. Keep your wheel straight, keep your foot on the gas pedal.. Don't swerve through any traffic (there shouldn't be any traffic in the first place).
(2) Never post youtube videos for the world to see. Someone has gone faster than you did already, you didn't set any milestone, you didn't impress anyone, and the cops/media will see your video. If you must record yourself, send it to some friends who may actually care, but don't release it for public access.
(3) You knew the consciquences, if you kill someone or you get busted by the police with a $500 ticket, no crying on a forum allowed. No whining about the officer being disrespectful. No asking how to dispute. Pay up and shut up.

Did anyone watch "Racing on Tape - Teresa Tang Reports on YouTube video of weekend speed racing"? they edited two different clips into one making it look like the car were racing at 240 km/h.

Freddy I just want to say you are an absolute idiot for talking to those people. Maybe you didn't know, but regardless when a journalist is trying to make a story based on street racing they aren't going to try and show what an awesome guy you are. Common sense in my mind. Second of all I don't know if it was you who provided them with pictures, but in the report there is a picture from a DSM club meet with members cars. Members who are mature enthusiasts who take the responsibility of providing a positive club, with positive morals. Our DSM club has never condoned or allowed street racing, but now because of your carelessness they may be seen as trouble makers when the cops i.d. their rides. Everyone with an import knows that Van cops already screw us over any chance they get, you just bent us all over and lubed us all up for them. You created a story in the media about street racing after a lot of tensions in the vancouver area had died down. Had you have watched what you said, and kept your mouth shut about certain things than Tang would have no story to go on. Saying things like "we can only kill ourselves", and "we block off roads" is just retarded man. I hope you are never welcome in any car club in BC again, and I hope you will think twice before you deface the reputation of everyone in Vancouver with a nice ride.

Just because it's too much of a mismatch. One tap on the gas pedal on the Veyron and you'll be half way done the bend. That's assuming of cousre you don't spin yourself off the track.

Facts.
street racing is illegal and wrong no matter how you think you can justify it.
blocking off streets? does that keep your tire from blowing out and sending you into a pole?
only kill yourselves? what about the impact on your families and friends? costs to ICBC? Fire dept, or abulance services that have to pry your charred ass out of your mangled cars?
Deserted road/Highway? i suppose you have realtime satellite imaging of the 100 miles ahead? what happens when you hit a deer? a stalled car? a person?
my civic runs low 13's i have a timeslip. show me yours and we'll know whos got a faster car.
everything else is macho BS.
to the interveiw guy, i feel for you. You got blindsided like we were a few years back.
NEVER TRUST THE MEDIA.
Drive safe, keep it off the streets.
