I had a cabbie try and tell me it was 125 bucks to take my drunk friend to richmond, and that the fee would double of she puked.

We were downtown.

you guys are whinning like they are worst people in the world....they are doing YOU a service because you 1) either got shit faced and didn't want to take the bus or 2) your too poor ass to buy a car

either way, suck it up

1- Well by the time your shit faced and done partying there is a pretty decent chance you can't bus even if you wanted to cause it probably stopped running. Of course this depends on where you are and exact time.

2- Drinking and driving?

3- Taxi is not their personal car? (so why are they super anal?)

Actually, i'm not sure about this. I never took a taxi before besides going to the airport on family trips. Are Taxi's the driver's own personal car?

with the weather ive found myself cabbing once or twice instead of taking out my car . and they refuse to go into my street, which is really not bad at all compared to others, and then when i payed him, 12$ from a 20, he only gave me 5 back and said have a good day, after dropping me off on the main road nowhere near my house!!!

i dont know whats with vancouver cabs
and in response to ^^ i think the cab drivers own their cars??

As far as I know, cab licenses go with the cars, but you need to go with a cab company to get any business.

Basically, one person owns the car and hires drivers to drive it (max 10hrs/day, 40hrs/week). When I was working at VanMit, one fijian-indian guy was driving the "family cab" and bringing it in for servicing now and again.
