Nikonians - Need lens help.

I'm trying to find a good replacement for my canon 10-22mm ef-s lens. So far I've read good things about the sigma 10-20mm and the nikon 12-24mm f/4.

The advantage of the 12-24mm f/4 is the fixed aperature, and apparently better optics but comes at a price.

And from what I've read for the sigma 10-20mm is that it actually handles well with CA but suffers from light falloff worse than the sigma, but is ~400 dollars cheaper.

So far I've managed to replace my 85mm f/1.8 with the nikon version (picking it up tomorrow) and ordered a 30mm sigma f/1.4. The only lens so far that I'm missing is a 70-200 f/2.8 VR (there is one im eyeing down on craigslist) and possibly a 17-55mm f/2.8 VR. Is there any other lenses that I should be looking out for? I really don't need anything +200 range (yet) but what are the best nikon primes?

I wouldn't buy the 17-55 simply because it's a DX lens. I'd go for the 17-35 and use a 50mm prime to make up the difference. Best Nikon primes? 85mm 1.4, 50mm 1.4. In the wider range, the 14-24 zoom beats all the primes.

If you want a sharp UWA lens for a DX camera, try the Tokina 11-16 F2.8.

Tokina 11-16mm f2.8. Best bang for the buck WA zoom out there right now. Has none of the wavy distortion present in the other cheaper WA zooms, so it's used by many architectural photographers. If money is no object, the Nikon 14-24mm f2.8 is the best WA zoom out there period.

The new Nikon zooms (14-24mm f2.8 & 24-70mm f2.8) will out resolve many primes. Like I've written before, the new 24-70mm f2.8 is sharper than the new 50mm f1.4.

If you can find the now discontinued Nikon 28mm f1.4 D get it.

I got an extremely good deal on a nikon d300, and I really wanted to a buy a 105 f/2 defocus, and if hopefully everything goes well tomorrow I'll pick one up for a killer price =)

So, I'm a little stuck here...

tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 (~650 dollars apparently damn sharp)

or

14-24mm f/2.8 (~1600)

The nikon is readily avaialbe while the tokina is on an insane back order list.

Depends if you want to go wide or if you want sharpness. 14mm isn't that wide on a DX body, and you can't use filters on the 14-24, if that matters to you.

I already have a 10.5mm fisheye.

also on a 1.6x sensor it is no longer a fisheye at the size.

I'd suggest the tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 as well.

I used the Sigma 10-20 for several months prior and just sold it. Excellent lens but its not as sharp as I'd like it to be. Also, some of the wavy distortion that it does can sometimes be annoying. Just my opinion.
