how many of you own/wear black north face puffy jackets?

i started seeing people wear these jackets over ten years ago in new york..... everytime i drive by john oliver sec, i see a gang of these jackets walking down the street. are these kids getting hand-me-downs or something or are they still selling the same jacket as they did a decade ago?

RacePace 12-30-2008 09:35 AM

could be, but they also don't make them very different these days imo

hal0g0dv2 12-30-2008 10:11 AM

they all look the same of the NF series

LC21 12-30-2008 12:26 PM

It has to be NF 700 series or they wont be considered gangster or cool.

SilvLX888 12-30-2008 10:28 PM

i got mine many yrs ago before they were super popular because of camping/vacationing up north. now i dont wanna wear it anymore purely because i dont want to get lumped into the same group as those mini thuggers w/ murses, see-thru kappa track pants and skunk hair at metro.

Nvasion 12-30-2008 11:16 PM

i bought mine a few years back... i still wear it when i dress scrubby or when i go to work on my car... other then that... i dont wear it to like metrotown or anything.... its freaking expensive... 300 bucks! how can high school kids afford these... i swear kids buy them because its "gangster" not becauseits warm.

Grandmaster TSE 12-31-2008 12:53 AM

yea, got mine a few years back
i wear it when its really cold, otherwise i'm usually in just a hoodie, even in the snow, HAHA

triplexcel 12-31-2008 01:11 AM

never had one ha.. but i did have one that looked like it.

during the spring/summer time in high school, i saw this guy wearing a north face jacket. i asked him if he was boiling hot and he answered yes... then i asked him why he was wearing it and he answered back by saying it was purely because of style or coolness???

wuuhoo 12-31-2008 01:26 AM

^ lol i see ppl wearing it in the summer. And you can really see them sweating LOL

Powerslide 12-31-2008 01:28 AM

i have to drop in and defend the North Face Nuptse jacket
this is hands down utility-wise the best investment I've ever made in a jacket- period.
Its freaking warm and you dont need lots of layers underneath, but it transitions so that when you get into a warmer atmosphere, you dont feel too warm. Im sure it has something to do with the feathers inside.
Its extremely comfortable to wear too
for $300 i've braved some serious elements with it and i've had it for over 5 seasons
too bad little gangster homos make them look cheesy

cody69 12-31-2008 01:29 AM

how dose kappa track pants and a puffy jacket look cool? am i missing something here?

Powerslide 12-31-2008 01:34 AM

you arent missing anything, that shit looks stupid

i was just defending the value of them. Oh btw mine has oil stains on it from working on my car so its definitely not baller or anything

EmOne 12-31-2008 06:31 AM

after 7 years, i still go mine

got a few stains i cant get rid off, besides the looks, it still wears like the first day i got it

good investment

unit 12-31-2008 08:04 AM

triplexcel 12-31-2008 10:30 AM

^^ wtf.. and did he have a pair of tight kappa or puma pants? hahah

winson604 12-31-2008 10:30 AM

I have one lol. Got it like 7 years ago. I only really where it now like if I'm at home and I need to go outside to blaze or something. Can't deny the warmth of the jacket.

Splmash 12-31-2008 11:34 AM

I'm not going to lie, I laugh at people who wear these. If it's a big crowd of people, I laugh even harder.

3xta 12-31-2008 12:37 PM

i admit that i have one... in white....

i got it 5 years ago though

lol thats why they wear it in the summer as well

sas 12-31-2008 04:17 PM

Northface, Kappa, Murse Bags (lame to begin with), C.A., LV, Coach, the list goes on..

So many things ruined by Little thugs. I am sure, they were never LV's target audience.

teaoh 12-31-2008 05:46 PM

I have one and still wear it. Usually in the mornings going to school or work. But sometimes i seriously dont want to wear it since those LG's gave it a bad sterotypical look.

bbbj 12-31-2008 09:56 PM

^ The Lg's wear it too??

LC21 01-01-2009 12:28 AM

^
puffy jackets make them look "buff"

wuuhoo 01-01-2009 01:16 AM

I still have mine. But i dont wear it cuz its not warm enough for me LOL. still in the closet tho :)
