River Rock Buffet?

Have you guys tried the buffet at River rock? Thinking of going for dinner. It's $26, just wondering what your thoughts are on the food and service.

I went way back when River Rock first opened. They kept having these coupons for the dinner buffet that worked out to be like in the $10 neighbourhood per person. Either way I wasn't too impressed witht he buffet but that was a long time ago now.

i went today at about 6:30pm, unfortunately it was packed and they wouldn't add any more people to their registration list until 8pm. Hordes of people were standing outside waiting so we went for hotpot instead. It was my first time at RR casino, i was quite impressed at the size and the ample amount of parking space.

I just went today. They are under renovations so there are hardly any seats available. The food wasn't crappy, but it would be so much better with more variety. The roast beef was a bit chewy. Salmon was over cooked. Fondue chocolate was not thick enough. King Crab legs were not too bad, but a bit on the salty side. There soft drinks were a bit diluted. The garlic croutons for the salad were over toasted. The roasted potatoes were over cooked and a bit spicy. The chinese vegetables (siu choy) were over cooked as well.

Black bean scallop were awesome. Tomato and pumpkin soup are not bad. Cold shrimps and sauce were ok.

FYI the above listed were all that's on the buffet table. There's also a salad bar, but didn't really dig into that.

Try at your own risk, but I would wait until after they finish renovating before going back.

well they can't even tell the difference between snow crab and king crab.... can't expect too much from their so call "review" LOL

i don't even know how this place can get away with charging close to 30 bux serving crap food that i wouldn't even eat if it was given free.

i know!!
fuck
no turkey!!!

and the food sux...

no seafood!!!

the only seafood is the limited fishball, some cheap fish, and those frozen red clams...

when u have buffet, u got to at least have lobster, those big long clams ( i forgot wut they are call) , shrimp. etc etc

and now the meat!!

shit... these are the worst kind of beef i've ever seen!!
they are like those packs that no one buys... not to mention they are so slim that takes ages to chew, and have these weird taste...

also, no chick, pork or any other meat!!

all there is is those damn tofu, lettuce, and chinese mushroom!!

i never ate such shit buffet in my life!!!!!

and this is river rock dinner!!! fuck!!! last week i had hot pot at home also, but the food is so much better.

its pretty expensive, food tastes borderline okay, save yourself some money and make some food yourself or go to a different place

W-T-F?

First off why is there even a service rating at a BUFFET .. you grab you own plate, stack your own food, bring it back and eat it. The occasional old lady comes by to take the left over plates away and never says a peep. 1/10?

Are we even talking about the same buffet here? King Crab?.. Where are these reviews coming from?! The one at River Rock in Richmond right?!

... I went there before .. maybe like 3 years ago? It was absolute shit! Everything tasted like ... wet towels & cardboard? NO seafood, crap overcooked meat and bland starch mashed potatoes that were from the worst powder mix available! I'd take Uncle Willy's over them! (and that's not saying much)

Edit: Unless in the last 3 years there were some MASSIVE overhaul of EVERYTHING then I scarcely believe the above posters ate at the same place as me!

i agree with Deon.... everything was absolutely shit when i went there with my family.... it was a one time deal.. and everyone agreed that it was not worth coming back..

there was king crab.. one dish of it.. for the whole night.. a china man took three plates as it came out.. i took one peice.... it wasn't that good... and there was no chance for seconds..

i rate this place a 5.5/10....
