in simple terms, you pay the more expensive of the two, which usually means you pay the canadian taxes.. and it also depends if you lived the full year in the US as well but b asically you pay the more expensive one of the two don't think living in the states is a whole lot cheaper as well, it adds up and comes to around the same thing, unless the company you work for covers you for living cost and medical (the most important one) |

Car Insurance $80 Rent $400 Food $400 Entertainment $300 Gas $200 Mortgage $300 RRSP $1700 Investment Loan$2600 $6000 per month expenses but I get some money back from the RRSP contribution and the investment loan is interest only so it is tax deductible. The mortgage listed generates cash flow of about $200 so really my expense is around $5800. Phone and all bills are paid for by the company, I am renting at a friend's and I drive a piece of shit. I am very very aggressive with savings as I have no idea when my good fortune with work may end. |

Don't drive and you'll save a lot of money and headache. Live as close to work as possible to save on time. I am on a student budget and manage to save a bit every month and I feel much freer by not having a car. :D |
