To be honest, $600 on food seems like a lot. Should buy stuff in bulk and eat at home more. Food is for survival, not luxury. Well at least, for me it is.

Well at least, for me it is. | $600 for 1 person is way too much. That would mean you pretty much eat out every day or everyday other day. Hopefully that isnt the case because you could be saving a shitload of money buy buying stuff and cooking at home. I prefer a home cooked meal over eating out anyday

How does everyone here spend their salary or will be spending their salary? | found a job yet? i haven't....finished in EE as well

Yeah, maybe I am cheap but I'm sure not going to be a baller today while running the risk of being a broke ass hobo tomorrow. Most people have a spending problem and this is why everyone is so obsessed with making more money. It's all backwards. | Wow that is exactly what my mom always says to me a few days ago. |

looking through this thread has encouraged me to start saving more of my money... We'll see how this goes
I don't really do any serious budgeting, just try my best not to spend crazily on any one thing and be in control... so far seems ok... but i am going to try to increase the amount of money i shuffle away each month

I spend everything I make, and then some.
Good thing I don't have a credit card.
I should probably get one soon... but I'll be in debt and thats not cool.
I should stop buying so many cool things.
It would also help if I stopped drinking after my shift.. but I walk past the bar on the way out. And the Bartender is hot.
And I think I'm an alcoholic.

Then why don't you buy into a cheap condo or house or apartment?
You rent at 1500/per month for a year thats 18,000 of your money wasted...
Put it into property and think of it as a big piggy bank, live there for a year and cash out at 20,000 (plus your down payment) and move into something bigger and better...
Sure it takes effort to find the right places, and I'm not saying you need to move every year, just think, why waste 18,000 on a place for rent thats probably minimally better than the house/condo you could buy with a buddy, gf, family member...
You get your money back
You build credit
You have a place of your own
The only bad thing is that you have to pay your utils and property tax, so find a place where after your down, you pay roughly 1200 for mortgage...
Its very doable
As for me... I live at home
Havent finished school yet | It's easy for you to say what you said while living at home. Try moving out WHILE saving for a downpayment for a decent place.
