Actually, if you were smart enough, you would have phrased and summarized it properly. Or atleast make it congruent with your statement.

seriously, one saying you'll lose 5.4% of your bet in the long run IS NOT A Gambler's fallacy... You obviously either don't understand true meaning of Gambler's fallacy, or you do not understand how stats work never mind how casinos work... Have you taken any advanced mathmatic course after highschool? or have you worked in a Casino industry as a management team?
I sincerely hope not...
Outcome of today's winning in Casino DOES NOT make you any more likely that you'll lose or win more next time. However in the long run, it guarentees you that you'll lose very close to fixed % of your total bet This is called stats.
now, when you goto bacarrac table and sees a "pattern" and everyone decides to bet heavy on Banker based on that "pattern". Is it more likely that because of previous results("pattern") next hand will more likely be Banker? No! and that's what Gambler's fallacy is. Can you see the difference?
If not, I can't really help you any more...

LemonH2O 01-04-2009 08:34 PM

you should watch the movie 21

InvisibleSoul 01-04-2009 09:23 PM

Hey CRS, I'm going to have to agree with chinook79. If anything, it sounds like you're mistaking what he's saying to BE gambler's fallacy, which it is NOT.

rev5325 01-14-2009 05:20 PM

yea in 21 they do wat ever they want

Meowjin 01-14-2009 06:44 PM

mr85 04-15-2010 06:23 PM

simsimi1004 04-15-2010 06:42 PM

No I was banned once, all they did was take my ID and wrote down some info then they guy said you're banned for a year. There's no real way to enforce it if you go back before the ban is up if someone working there is new they will let you in or if they don't check your ID in the first place.

trends/streaks are all bullshit and solely based on luck. it doesn't affect the odds. its purely psychological.

if you flip a coin and you get heads. the probability of you getting tails on the next flip will be 50/50.

BlacknJean 04-15-2010 09:28 PM

roulette is prolly the worst table to win money at. lost so much money on it already

vafanculo 04-15-2010 10:38 PM

If you ban yourself and go back, don't the casinos have the right to charge you $5k?

So in a way, going to the casino becomes a gamble in itself lol

to be exact, in the long run you will go bankrupt.

OP's hypothesis is already retarded. these games are built by mathematicans, there are many ways to make money, table games are not one of them. maybe poker as what others have said.
