5 mm spacers should be ok. any thicker and i reconmend pressing in new studs or getting the stud adapter spacers like project kics has or H&R has. you can run these if the back of ur wheels have the empty space between the stud holes. the H&R ones are hub centriced, while the project kics are 73mm. so though the nuts it comes with are tappered, still better to get a set of hub centric rings to match ur hub spacing.

best is to get hubcentric'd wheel spacers, eg H&R but if ur running aftermarket wheels, u also need a hub centric spacer to match ur oem hub size, to the aftermarket wheel hub size, if the wheels were not hub matched to begin with.
