ICBC: School Me!

Hey Guys,

What are the variables ICBC uses to attain an insurance rate for a car?

<< Type of Plan (eg: pleasure) + % off + Car Type = Rate? >>

I'm specifically curious about car type, do they base it on trim/model/style/etc?

Thank you!

Depends on what sort of coverage you're buying. If it's for 3rd party liability, the variables are driving experience, type of use and address.

Car type is NOT a variable for 3rd party.

For optional coverages:

Car type IS a variable for most optional coverages.
