| Bountiful polygamous leaders charged
Charges have been laid against two men who lead a religious sect in the southeastern B.C. town of Bountiful. Winston Blackmore and James Oler are both charged with practising polygamy. Attorney General Wally Oppal says Blackmore is accused of committing polygamy with 20 women while Oler is accused of commiting the crime with two women.
Members of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints practice multiple marriage in Bountiful, the southeastern B.C. community with a population of around 1,000. The sect in Bountiful is a breakaway offshoot of the Mormon church, which renounced polygamy more than a century ago.
Last June, Oppal appointed a special prosecutor to look into allegations of criminal abuse at Bountiful, despite two earlier legal opinions that said it would be difficult to proceed with criminal charges for polygamy itself. I don't get why it's legal to cheat on your wife left, right and centre, but not OK to be a polygamist.
I mean, for someone as charming, intelligent and good-looking as me, it's torture being forced to be monogamous.

^ the difference, which is why he is being prosecuted is because he's marying out 14 year olds etc.
if everyone on the farm was legal age I doubt it would be as much as a issue

It's about time something was done! I wonder why they didn't charge them for sexual abuse of minors? Their situation is no different than the teacher in the hot teacher thread.
