Okay. Because an article in USA Today told me that it's okay to use 87 Octane in my turbocharged MR2, I'm going to do that from now on forward.

^^

LOL, I was going to say the same thing, I was looking at all the cars, then half way down Timpo strategically placed a stupid riced out civic in with the super cars LOL

However, granted, that car probably really does need 94 assuming it's tuned.

tuned VTAAAAK NAWWZ power.

SAFC with the VTAAAAK set to come on at 2k RPM. WIN!

Truenosan 01-10-2009 07:59 PM

Nice !!! I'm going to be putting 87 in my car from now on.

Even though my car is tuned to 94...

.

You have no idea, the riced up fugly Civic is on par if not better than the McLaren F1 and Enzo in his eyes, but still, nothing comes close to the king of all Veilside kits

He earned his title for a reason, really

The tech at BMW said just alternate between regular and premium.

1st mistake is letting a dealer work on your car.

2nd mistake is actually taking their advice.

tool001 01-10-2009 11:49 PM

jess... its only $5-10 diff every fill up,, deal with it.. alternate if ur too cheap

CivicTypeRice 01-10-2009 11:51 PM

lol at people putting regular gas onto their cars...the higher the octane rating, the less of a tendency the engine has to knock

regular gas - burns faster which leads to carbon buildup

...but has a greater chance of prolonged overheating because it has to work harder to burn that higher octane gas... especially if it's not designed for it.

ive never put anything but premium in my tl

Mugen EvOlutioN 01-27-2009 12:18 PM

weird how fucking ppl dares to blow $50g+ into a car and afraid to shell out exra $5-10 dollar fill on a premium gas

fuck that

MarkyMark 01-27-2009 01:47 PM

It's also funny how some people buy a car that says it takes regular yet they'll only put in 92 or higher. Maybe it makes them think they are driving a higher end car.

simsimi1004 01-27-2009 02:19 PM

^ or maybe it might make the engine last longer.

any truth to that? my have a frd that always put supreme in his god damn fit. he claims the car goes faster and it better for the engine. so if i put racing fuel in my inifiniti will it gain 20hp?

cdizzle_996 01-27-2009 04:31 PM

If the car specifies premium, why not use it?

10 cents more a liter, its going to be was $4-6 bucks more?

Nope. Putting 94 octane into a car that only needs 87 to burn at it's optimum temperature will spend more time overheating in an effort to burn the higher octane. It wont extend the life of your engine; if anything, there's a possibility that it may decrease its life.

q0192837465 01-28-2009 01:00 PM

I've put both 87 & 92 in my car (91 recommended). The car runs quieter when I put 92. Mileage is about the same. I just put 87 when gas is expensive, and 92 when gas price comes down
