Heh...i got married last year, and i do get this question a lot....so it seems that i have a pretty generic answer that seems to get the point across. Especially at my work, where i work with a lot of people significantly younger than me....and they always have questions about relationships.

Of a collaboration of ALL the right answers thats found in this thread....this is how i simplify my point of view......

"Its not how compatible you are with a girl when you are happy that determines if she is a keeper.....but how you and a girl are most compatible WHENEVER YOU FIGHT."

Points:
-looks, maturity, intellect, success, is all subjective.
-flattery, special moments, sudden surprises, feet-sweeping and lovey dovey shit can only go so far....and you can do it to anybody and they will like you until you do something stupid.
-Arguments are key points in relationships that can either end a relationship or make it stronger
-Arguments develop communication skills and test future compatibility
-Couples that avoid conflict, arguments or fights end up with a very horrible fight that usually ends relationships.
-Conflict communication usually are treated as learning lessons thats used for the future benefit of a relationship as opposed to a burden
-Good relationships are never perfect, and that should always be taken into consideration.

So in short.....if you're with someone that you can have an argument with all the time, and at the end concludes in a blissful manner......then good on ya!

- she loves to cook
- she is a clean person with regards to the house
- her mom is awesome (roll model)
- she is good with kids
- she has a degree/ goals in life
- she has to be hot
- share same interests/ willing to try things you are interested in (like sports or something)
- listens to you, cares about you
- backs you up
- always wants to be w. you (even though its annoying as fuck)
- knows when you want to just hang w. guy friends
- has good friends

thats the only stuff i can think of for now.

-must have good job
-must be very attractive
-must be very funny
-must drink, must smoke (strictly recreational)
-must be sexually compatible
-must dance
-must be overly affectionate and very needy
-must love skiing
-must be a good listener
-must give me alot of attention
-must be outgoing and sponaneous
-must love being my partner

^ I agree, I am sure everyone has "things" they are looking for in a partner, but I don't know one guy who got what he initially thought he wanted...me included....I tell my buddies, if the woman of your dreams does not give you grief, spend all your money or cheats on you....you gotta it made!

compromise and complement each other.
if the girl / wive that you love is willing to compromise and listen to your concerns and the BOTH of you acknowledges theses issues then hey you got it made.

now, hopefully you'll find a girl that complements you because what you can't do she can and vice versa. imainge both individual doesn't know how to cook or not willing to clean.. man that would suck.

I'm not married, but I do have my superman! Some of those points are a little exaggerated but really it's all in the connection. We connect well from the points I've listed.

Perhaps, but remember that thread about being clingy? Clingy (IMO) is when someone likes me more than I like him, and I can tell. So if I love him just as much and we both show it it's not clingy or needy. Nor did I list the quality of "strong" be it physically or emotionally. I would like my man to be clingy and needy because I am the same way.

what makes a woman wife material? the answer will be different for every man that takes the question seriously.

sexual compatability is up there, but i think it mostly rides on an understanding and acceptance of your personality, honor and respect. if you truly respect each other in every way shape and form, there's no reason to not get married.
