I want to go to BCIT after graduation from SFU

Does this sound reasonable? I'm a 2nd year student at SFU Computing Science Honors program. My gpa is 3.xx not bad huh. I find that computing is not my true passion but hey the salary is not too bad. My true passion is about cars. I want to go to BCIT and learn Automotive Repair and Automotive Technician.
Am I out of my mind? My parents do not approve...

I can definitely afford it. The thing is that I don't want a career in automotive business. I only want to learn the skills for my own hobby.

why don't you finish cs at sfu, then go to bcit part-time program while you work. this way you make the money you want and also keep your hobbies.

If you're doing it as a hobby, just buy a car and a book and tear the car apart.

if you are just doing it for the kicks, do part time classes whenever you are free and get a old beater for practise

haha, i ran the same path 5-6 years ago, i went to SFU for CS and after skool i started working as an auto-part salesperson and then became an car audio installer, now i am at BCIT taking building engineering. when i was young i was very passionate about motor sport, racing, autoX..., but as i was getting older i found $$ is more important, and in time i got so lazy to even work on my own cars, so i'd rather get a better job, make more $$ and get a better car like Z06 or Porsche (for me they're good), no more mods, no headache, and the best part is ur gf would never complain abt u spending too much time on cars, lol.
