He did it once at a pool, some people said that there was a layer of glass or plexiglass under him, and that the swimmers swam under the glass to create make the viewers thing he is actually walking on water, but this is a lake.....

Something just isn't right with the bystanders but i dunno what..

obviously magic is just an illusion and not real, but he hires actors to be his crowd and "witness"! his "magic" is only good for video cause every one of his "witness" and crowd can see how he did it.

EDIT: By the looks of it, there's probably a crane and suspension wires on him lifting him up. Can't explain, but if you look, the way he moves suggest he is being held up by something.

there are transparent pexiglass tubes sticking out of lake bed which he stands on. and the last one is actuated so it can go down. the position of the sticks are predetermined and he has to take the exact same step slowly to avoid missing the tubes.

Close, but I think its just a plexiglass platform (you would be able to see the outlines of tubes). The "swimmers" are actors who go through specific cutouts in the ramp (that he steps OVER) and can swim under it basically anywhere.
