| Revscene.net 2009, Updates and Changes
As I’ve said in another post before, ill be making some decisions and changes to RS this coming year. Some have been implemented already and just waiting for them to fold into the schedule... Others will be announced as of right now and in the following future.
RS has been around for over 8 years now. It’s showing signs of the times, and needs to be updated and changed to meet the demands. RS will still be a free site, but to meet the growth, some changes will be made. Some take it too lightly how this service comes free to use for all, but at the same time, abused by those certain individuals that are causing this crossroads. SPAM of any shops on this site will be seen as violating that of Revscene. This site does not run on its own, and like with everything out there, cost money to maintain. Vendors help maintain the site by advertising. The revenue generated keeps it free to post for all. Those that abuse this will be dealt with swiftly.
How can you help? Keep an eye out for spam, its that simple. Revscene has always charged fairly, if not below the cost to advertise on a site of this size and nature. You can help by keeping spam out of revscene. They are hurting your ability to post on here! Revscene has always been the place where you can communicate between yourself and the vendors.
So onward with the changes. FIRST, all NWS material in Offtopic will be moved to Fight Club. All porn related topics will be moved to fight club. Offtopic will be as surf friendly for work as it possibly can. Flight Club will be renamed or adapted to meet this change. Offtopic was meant to house all non car related topics, not PORN. Fight Club was meant to be the final resolve of E-conflicts but it has become a straight out Shit hole for antisocial e-thugs. That will change. These changes will be made in the following few days.
New advertising medium is the new agenda. With the help of a few trusted members, revscene will adopt some new advertising medium. No one hates pop-up’s more than I do, we will do what we can to avoid that at all costs. This reflects the times. Though we pride ourselves in helping out the locals, the local scene is as saturated as can be. I’ve done all I can to this stage, and have requested the help of others as my limited knowledge of running this site is lacking. Its time, and frankly, some assholes have worn me out thin. I love the car scene, but find the shit that comes with it unbearable.
