Passport

Anybody know if it's a must to cross the boarder with only a valid passport now? Or can I still use my Birth Certificate and BCDL? I remember last year, they said you have to have a passport starting 2008 and somehow, I entered through the boarders with only a BC and BCDL.

My other friend said that he crossed the boarder with an expired passport, and that you only need the passport to get on planes, etc etc.

ANYBODY KNOW?!

From the Passport Canada website

"Starting June 1, 2009, a U.S. law will require Canadians to present a valid passport to enter the United States by water or land. U.S. law already requires Canadians to present a valid passport to enter the U.S. by air. Apply for your passport today to ensure you have it when you need it. Remember, the passport is the recommended travel and identification document for all Canadian travellers."
